For anyone curious, the kids grow and shrink like that because the killable children mod alters their code slightly to be more like adults (allowing the killableness) and as a side effect they're able to use things only adults can like soup pots. Skyrim's animations are weird so when the small child skeleton goes to use the object, it stretches them to fit the animation.
