Thank you for your amazing weekly videos Steven. We’ve made the decision to homeschool our son who is now 13. He’s a bright boy who loves sports but he kept saying he didn’t see the point in school and it wasn’t making him happy. I’ve told him that we will start a business together and learn as we go. I’m totally out of my depth as it’s something I’ve never done before, so any advice or tips for pointing us in the right direction would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏼. Thank you for all you do ❤️.

Oh my, what a journey Michael has been on... I had no idea he was behind Moshi so that was eye opening and if I've taken anything from hearing his journey, it's is perseverance that shines through for me! The amount of failure (if one wants to see it as this, although the lessons learnt can't be seen as failure) and the amount of people sadly affected by Michael's ideas that didn't quite work you would think that most people would buckle and give up, but not this guy, he's remarkable and what a success story Calm has been... massive thanks for all your hard work Michael, it's so appreciated.

@@TheDiaryOfACEO some extra points about the neuroscience of how meditation works that Mike didn’t mention: 1. Meditation helps to train and strengthen our parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest part of our nervous system and brain). 2. Meditation increases alpha and gamma brainwave states (more relaxed, higher attention, focus, and even higher levels of consciousness in the case of gamma brainwaves) 3. From point 2, being in alpha/gamma brainwave states decreases amount of time in beta brainwave state (seen in stress states and most people are in this state most of the time whilst awake). Lower amounts of beta brainwave states reduces levels of cortisol and stress in our brain and body. 4. Meditation before sleep allows you to enter alpha brainwave state - closer to theta and delta (brainwave states of sleep) which allows you to fall asleep much faster. 5. Breathing (exhalation in particular), slows down our heart rate and increases activation of parasympathetic nervous system. This is regulated via the sinoatrial node in our heart. Training this process through meditation can increase the relaxation effect.

Interesting to see how some people are serial entrepreneurs. From moshi to calm, very interesting, I'd never have guessed! After all the stress of previous businesses, to then go into another hard new business is a mindset unique to serial entrepreneurs. Setting up a business naive to the realities ahead is one thing, but to do so knowing what lies ahead is next level.

Or if using studio have it at the top....watching it on KZbin I have a feeling guests don't feel at ease having large mic in front of their faces....don't feel relaxed feeling from the quests at all....Michael talking about Calm app, I'm watching it and think - has he came for job interview or has he come to have a chat with the friend and have an interesting conversation which we can all listen to....I'd prefer the second option....

It's funny discussing mushrooms as a solution. The reason we have this 'crisis' is because of lifestyle; too much time online, indoors, separated from each other. That's fundamentally the issue,. Mushrooms won't solve it, just mask the symptoms (mental health issues).

Hi steven , you are very nice guy. Firstly, I wonder why people are so obsessed with millionaire and billionaire why ??? Is it making money is a success??? Personally I made 5 million in last 9 months on top of what I already have does it make me happy?? Answer is NO , to be honest if I don’t work for rest of my life I can buy and get whatever is needed and I am in my 30s ….. why money is so important why we as a society glamorise money and making loads of it is considered as an achievement why …. How many people love you unconditionally is an achievement, how many will stand by you in thick and thin is an achievement, how many will really feel and honestly feel a loss when you leave this world is an achievement. Rest of things are just absolute bull shit. Finally, one day I asked my dad , dad when you look back at your childhood how you feel ?? He replied I feel like it was yesterday, that changed the way I perceive this life , it will be over before you know, everyone just try and think about your childhood, let’s see if you feel like it was yesterday??

Fantastic interview. Even listening tio Michael’s voice is a form of mindfulness. The only topic I would question is this flawed statistic that men in romantic relationship are statistically happier. Such a broad generalisation that seems so outdated. And makes people who are happily single question their personal life choices.
