This week we worked at putting cows back on the glade mountain all week. We are preparing to ship calves and gather in less than a month and things are about to get crazy. We got a new dog that Hyde named bull. We appreciate all the support and people who watch our videos. Thank you.

Thx a lot for the show, my friend. I look forward to it every week. I never get tired of looking at cattle and you have a very nice herd. We ran horned Herford for 35 years and now the last 5-6 years we've been using red Angus bulls. They make a really nice cross. Best wishes to you good folks.

What is it about the mountain that the cows don’t like? Looks to be plenty of feed for them. Maybe their internal clock is messed up? What a sweet picture of Spider-Man and Bull. I always enjoy your video. Thank you!

When you first drinkRosehip tea, it takes a little trial and error to get it to your taste. If it’s too concentrated, it tastes strange and not that great. You can always add a sweetener to it if you like, but I try to get the concentration right instead.

How much training do you have to do with new dogs , or do you let the old dogs do the training? Cattle look good ! Nights getting cool cows naturally head downhill, pain in the behind, but at lest it is pretty.
@shawnjack8092
@shawnjack8092 8 күн бұрын
We let the old dogs do the training. I work on a few basic commands, but when it comes to working cows they learn best from each other. Thanks for watching

Those cattle of yours look good healthy and delicious. I heard there is a rodeo in Monticellio Utah do you guys go to it every year? Are you guys christian I notice you guys don"t swear and smoke? Thanks for showing what ranch and farming life is like in the Utah Southeast. Do you guys farm and plant every year?
@shawnjack8092
@shawnjack8092 8 күн бұрын
Hi Ty, thanks for the questions. Monticello has a great PRCA rodeo that we love to go to. Trason actually helps with that rodeo. We are Christian and we try hard to live like Christ would have us live. We have pretty strong feelings about integrity, it is very important to us. So I appreciate your comment. We do farm every year, not much, but we enjoy growing things and having a little hay and some pasture. Take care Ty

You're welcome. I put my woven blanket next to he horse. YOu can wash them whereas you can't wash the felt covered rubber as well. The dirt stays embedded in that felt and dirt causes sores.

on that summer permit, there is 460. and we counted about 300 of them that came down on the fence line.

Could you explain a little bit more about the timing of when you move pastures? Does it have to do with the terms of your grazing leases? Or is it time of year, climate dependent? Water dependent?

When I use to run cattle on the forest we always had people want to help. Some would come up again but there were those that didn’t realize how difficult it was especially when it got hot. None of them ever waited to help mother them up. So I killed my horse trying to hold back the tied. Or another thing that use to piss me off those that had some of the bigger permits would always go back to get the trucks. The rest of us were exhausted by the time they got there. Lazy buggers

ha ha there are a lot of little things that only people who work cows would pick up on. I appreciate your attention to the details. One of my least favorite jobs is sitting holding cows after you have pushed them all day, but I also think it is one of the most important. Thanks for watching
