for all my fellow baseball players, what cam is describing is exactly why pitchers were/are inclined to use pine tar or sticky substances in order to get added grip. the more grip, the higher the RPMs you can put on the object you’re throwing. even more important if you have smaller hands. breaking in a football is kinda similar to breaking in a baseball glove as well. the leather goes from rock hard to soft if the proper steps are taken.

We use to send our footballs with the kickers for 2 weeks to break em in before the season. We would send 6 and they would hold 2 of em to use in the game. I returned kicks and some kickers like brand newish balls so sometimes that's y they fumble them returns because those balls aren't as worn in

I think that’s the same thing as basketballs, nobody loves a brand new ball in the NBA, they love a ran through cuz it’s grippier and more sweat resistant

Hooper here….a brand new basketball is impossible to play with in game. It will just slide out of your hand. Usually we started the first practices with newish balls. By the time the first home game arrived they were ready to go. More hands that touch the ball the better. But after a while the ball becomes too smooth

Interesting. That's why deflate gate was big, because the pressure of the ball can be used to disrupt the opponents grip.

There is SO much ignorance in this thread😂 No; it was not just one ball. It was all of the Patriots’ balls. And no; it can not disrupt the opponents’ grip because both teams have their own balls. How tf do u think the Patriots would be able to deflate the balls ahead of the game if both teams were using the same balls?😂 Deflating balls makes them exponentially easier to throw and catch; especially in the rain. That’s where the controversy starts and ends

@@fakename5308that’s why they RAN the ball for the most part that game and actually outscored the colts by more when the balls were properly inflated? You’re a smooth brain who doesn’t understand the ideal gas laws🤣

I played qb i throw it like a baseball because it was my first sport. Like elway holds it different because he played baseball too. Its alot of qbs that have their wrist bent a little because we played baseball lol but my favorite ballbto throw and catch is that wilson tdy. And the youth wilson tdy too.

Peyton is a great one to bring up. Threw accurate ducks all over the field with the broncos. As a broncos fan, it made me wonder why he started wearing a glove on his throwing hand...

Because his explanation on the biomechanics involved was.. sorry to say, awful lol he's been an elite tier athlete his whole life so he never really had to learn much about it other than a little tip or two. Hence why the best he could do was "uh... shoulders square... unless throwing deep, than tilt". There are literally golf instructors who could do a better job explaining lol also not for nothing Cam's throwing mechanics are not something anyone else should imitate, it worked for him (though not for long) but it was one of the most labored throwing motions I've ever seen from an NFL QB.. HORRIBLE on the shoulder. But if you wanna learn more about the proper way to throw a football the key things are: finding a grip that works for you (your only connection to the ball). Understanding your 3 forces (vertical, lateral and rotational). Utilizing the lower body and ground forces to generate ball speed (load weight on back foot in the wind up, weight transfer to the lead foot through the release/follow through). Lead elbow progressively tucking into rib cage on follow through (for better control). Throwing arm supinates (or rotates externally) on the way back, and pronates (rotates internally) on the way through. Throwing wrist works from extention (like a waiter holding a tray) to flexion (limp wrist) from top of wind up to follow through. Congratulations, you now have textbook throwing mechanics.

Because he still thinks he can play in the NFL…… he refuses to believe it’s over with for him as a pro QB or even a back up! Plus he ruined himself when the broncos spanked him into submission to the point cam didn’t even want to get physical and get his fumble back because of the physical beaten he had taken all game 😂😂😂

@ yeah. Just kind of realized I’ve never ever heard of sticky stuff and nfl drama before. Only deflate gate. I’ve never even seen a QB use rosin. Or anything. Back in the day defenders used to be able to use tar. I’m going to research this a little.
@therealestinstigator5745
@therealestinstigator5745 19 күн бұрын
@@contrnsmagnificndjoobngtaint from my assumption the whole thing with that stuff is that it’s easy to leave the residue on the football and when the refs catch it they can catch on pretty quickly and you can’t really pay the refs off on it bc if the opponent reports it they all will be punished but it was a little easier for the deflation so that could be the reason it was more recent than the stick stuff

@@therealestinstigator5745 apparently was used in 70’s and fully banned in 1981 because this db Hayes started covering his entire arms with tar to help catch the ball 😅. Stuff was called Stickum.
