I'm still rocking the stock NPP muffler on mine. I did do a secondary cat delete. It really does wake up the sound a bit. More pops and crackles for sure!

Eric, did the secondary cat delete void any warranty for you? And was it expensive? Thanks for your time. -Todd

@@baham9217 Since the O2 sensor is before the secondary cat, it won't void it. But if the state and county you live in requires an emissions test, it might not pass. The total for whole job came to $120. Any reputable muffler shop can do it

I’ve never felt Borlas are loud enough on newer cars. I had a ZL1 - Flowmaster X with Magnaflow Race Series. Loud as hell. Car was so badass - I got so many compliments and miss it often.

I bought the S-Type for my 17 SS and I'm cool witit. Now my 10 SS.... I put headers and F-Masters and Homiiiie. My neighbors were not feeling it. They're both on my channel but I feel the same way. I don't think they're worth the money but it is what it is. If you get headers you may think it's too loud.

@@QueTheChaotic I've been thinking about it now and now that I think about it we shouldn't have to buy aftermarket for the exhaust to still not really compete with just an R/T chall/charger. They sound good. I live right outside of Philly now and I can hear them driving in the city. I know I couldn't hear mine from my crib if I was driving by. Smh.

yeah I cut my secondary cats off and now getting headers, but the stock npp system is perfect just need some more power fo more volume love the car by the way

Good honest review. Did you take out the narrowed part of the stock exhaust? I want to do some mods to my 1le but will wait until warranty is done. Also want to hear some different exhaust systems in person not on video. I do like the looks of the Borla carbon fiber tips the best of all I have seen on line and videos.

I didn't take out the narrowed stock exhaust. I actually tried to get a catback but the company didn't have it available on my scheduled day of install.

@@shaunmccuin5954I know this is 2 years later, but just for anyone else who ends up browsing, an exhaust isn’t going to void your warranty. for example if you blew up your motor, and all you had done was an exhaust, they have to prove it was your exhaust that caused the failure in order to void your warranty. same thing about those silly “void” stickers.

I got a Borla S type in black that was a Blem for 700, but honestly a full catback sounds a lot better with both tone and volume .. add in headers and it takes the Borla system to 11...

@@QueTheChaotic Stainless works, Borla, Corsa, even Kooks..all have nice systems... but honestly hacking on your stock system with an axle back is a bad choice granted its the cheaper route... but the stock systems are super restrictive and should be replaced anyway....

Dude when you get headers and cat delete it will be louder!!! Honestly I would have started with headers and cat delete then worked my way back to the end of the exhaust. Could have had headers and cat delete and would have felt WAY better.

If I'm hearing you correctly, you would get new headers and the H-Pipe install/fix instead of getting the Borla S-Type Axle Backs, correct? I have a '20 SS 1LE and I love the dual-mode exhaust. I don't want to lose that. If you could do it again, would you skip the Borla S-Type and instead do the H-Pipe and cat delete along with new headers? Would that equal the $1,700 that you dropped on the Borlas and give you more of the sound (and added performance?) that you want? Thanks for your time, Que.

Hey Todd. That is exactly it. The amount of money for the Borla's is insane. They do sound good but the value isn't there. I would definitely do headers. I wanted to go that route but I was afraid of voiding the warranty.

great video.. i need to look at other exhaust.. when i had my 15 coyote, i slapped on a roush axle back and xpipe and it was perfect and aggressive. i cant stand the stock npp exhaust on my 21 ss. kinda lost on what to do. maybe buy another mustang :(

I prefer the deep rumble of the S type but I think I’d be happier with how loud the ATAK is. I’ve never heard it in person though

You dont have to get the carbon tips and NPP like he did, just go polish non NPP and spend the extra cash on the catback it makes more sense... the Borla system is definitely worth the money
