Thanks Kelly. The best explanation of test and knife settings I have found ;)

Thanks for such a good tip. I like the idea of using a letter instead of the test cut triangle.

Nicely presented. Also for any laser users many of these concepts are very similar to understand.

Thank you so much! Im thinking of getting a laser cutter too at some point, so good to know its similar to what I already know 😄

@@KellyRossouw - well yes and no, laser is a cnc machine so lots of electrical, optical and mechanical knowledge needed but once you understand this stuff you a for away. Who knows I may be able to pay back the help you give me here.

Thanx so much for this! Much needed. Question..and I hope I make sense. The auto blade that comes with the cameo for can be set to a blade depth on silhouette itself. Then you can hear the clicks going to the desired depth just before cutting. I bought a premium blade and noted that it can't be clicked....and you have to twist it manually to a desired depth. Must you then change the blade tool to manual 1mm?
@KellyRossouw3 жыл бұрын
No problem! Yes you will have to manually adjust it, and you can select "ratchet" blade in the software 😊

I need to ask you a few questions if you dont mind answering them. Do you have to adjust the blade manually with the adjusting tool every time the media or does toggling the blade depth in the software send that adjustment to the machine automatically? The second question is - how do you change from inches to centimetres in the software?
@KellyRossouw3 жыл бұрын
Not at all! :) If you are using the Autoblade it adjusts automatically, any other blade will need to be manually adjusted. You can change from inches to centimeters in the preferences panel - so click on Edit -> Preferences, and then Unit of Measurement :)
