I saw them play this with Slave back in the day, at the annual "Stone Soul Picnic" in Washington DC; it was Cameo, Slave and The Gap Band, and at the end of the show Slave and Cameo were on stage together playing this song with two drummers and two bass players, can you imagine that! 😎💯💕🔥

I wonder if there were any original members that day? I love Larry and cameo and it is a great homage for him to have covered this track. Was Drac onstage? i wonder what year it was.

@@waynefoote3781 for sure, that was decades ago, around 1984 because Cameo had released "She's Strange" that year.....😎💯💕🔥

In 1983 or so, at the absolute height of their Alligator Woman days - I was walking through Piedmont Park and suddenly saw all four of these guys walking shoulder to shoulder in my direction through the park, like it was nothing. I was too shy to say anything - I just smiled real big like I know who you are, they smiled back - and to this day I regret that I didn't completely fan girl all over them! I hope they appreciated my restraint to just let them enjoy being regular people. Cameo fan since 1976!

That was a minor hit for Cameo. Highly underrated.
@toddramsey3344 жыл бұрын
Yes this was indeed highly underrated. But Cameo’s time had passed by ‘94 so it wasn’t going to get the push that it so deserved. If they would’ve remade it in the 80’s it definitely would’ve blew up.

@@toddramsey334I respectfully disagree. As a Bass Player formally in a local band here in Ohio, I contest that though this is a very good and funky remake, Slaves original version is best in my opinion. Cameo's baseline version of this is really a generic copy compared to Slaves. Listen to Mr. Mark Adams play on Slaves version closely and you will see what I mean. There are a whole lot of nuances missing. Bass players know what I mean. But both are FUNKY!!! 🎸🎸🎶 But don't get me wrong Cameo is one of my favorite Groups/ Bands. I love playing all of there songs on Bass. .......Peace and keep on funkin'🎸🎶🔥👍🏾💯
