🔥. I luv 'new school', elevated af reboots and 'sampling.' But it truly pizzes me off to bc I know of many of the long list of pop- or soul songs that 1950s-1980s bros made that, later artists, mostly starting w gen-Xers (and the now-5 generations after them), benefited from (often w/o knowing it 🙄). Cameo is transcendent and nvr get enuf credit. And Cameo is just 1 example. So grateful I was already in my early 20s when Cameo blew up. A general example(not referrung to u, personally): Millenials/Zs/Alphas don't seem to gaf - but what if it had been your 1970s instrumentals-only radio hit song that Biggie(RIP), in 1995, made 'stoopid' money off of(🎶Can't You See🎶)? Then u(if u were that exact 70s music artist) would care a whole lot re who got proper credit for creating an earlier, original song that later was the(e) foundational sound of a dope azz hook(instrumentals hook in 🎶Can'tYouSee🎶) that became an all-time hit song. Ffs. 🙄
