I think Jake E Lee was an under rated guitarist. Same with Vivian Campbell. You played these beautifully and with a nice vibrato! I always believed your tone comes from your fingertips, even more so than the actual make up of the guitar. Proof? Joe Satriani sounds like Joe Satriani on a 100 dollar wal mart guitar or his js series ibanez. Excellent video. I subbed and smashed the like button. Im looking forward to watching more. You are fun to listen to!! Cheers brother!

Funny you mentioned Jake E Lee and Viv Campbell. Not sure if you know but after Jake E Lee wrote all the rhythms for the Dio Holy Diver album he the got the call from Ozzy to join his band. Viv played all the solos on Holy Diver, which were incredible, so really you got the best of both guitarist on Holy Diver. One of the greatest metal albums out there.

Jake E. Lee's guitar work on Ultimate Sin and Bark at the Moon is sooo underrated. I mean, just look at that chord work and guitar arrengement on these songs, the guy was already a very advanced guitar player at that time; beautiful and exotic chords and inversions, great taste for guitar tones and killer vibrato and note choice. He's on the same league of Warren de Martini and George Lynch; southern California guitar players, post-Van Halen guys that were very influenced by them, but took the whole game a few steps further, in therms of creating richer and more beautiful guitar parts. Jake E. Lee; a very inspired player and influential player, and definitly, my favourite Ozzy guitar player of all

@@jay-shredds NMT kinda has a good bit of filler imo. At that point I think Ozzy was just genre hopping to find something that he could work with. Because…grunge fucked everything up. Metal (even hair metal) was the superior genre, at least talent wise, but more of the teens were drawn to grunge/alternative. One of the big reasons as to why I think the 1990s is a lot more uncanny than the 80s.

Adding to all the comments on the guitar work, I have to say that Jake crafted those guitar parts in PERFECt synergy with the bass section, they really fit so well that while they sound amazing isolated, they are 100 times better when mixed in the song, it shows he was a great musician and not just a guitar player. Its almost like seeing Jake play live, speaking of which I actually did see Jake play live a couple of days ago in Pittsburgh Pa. The band, Red Dragon Cartel and they blew the roof off the place, easily the best concert i have ever seen. The band was amazing and Jake was other worldly. Your playing brings out all the subtleties that i see in Jake's playing. I have seen a ton of other rock guitarists but Jake is clearly in a class by himself. Love your videos.

I really enjoy your videos and love that you help to bring Jake to the forefront. Thanks again and love watching you play.

It's hard to find & a lot of people have never heard it before. Brad Gillis' playing on Fairies Wear Boots is just incredible! Props to your Pops. I’m going to rant here a bit. I’ve been following you a bit and I hope you know just how much of what you are able to do stems from your dad, who I think is a very intuitive guy. First off, I’m old as hell and still play, but not as clean as you anymore by far. My hands are crapping out. When I was a kid in the 60’s, my dad gave me his old POS Silvertone acoustic. I’m right handed. It made zero sense to me why my left hand was supposed to do all the heavy lifting. Your dad, I’ll bet, questioned the same thing. You’re a lefty playing a righty! Aren’t you!? Brilliant! As it should be! And tone. He turned you on to tone and the gear that makes the best tone possible. That’s a major leg up my friend. Without that support, old school knowledge and early connection, which are all important things if you’re going to breed shredders, I doubt seriously you would be the great player we all know you to be. So go thank the old man, take him out for a steak or detail his car and remember where you are was built on where he was. BTW, it would be cool if you both recorded a jam session........just saying.

3 years late, but I’ve read that it’s mostly because of the production. Both Ozzy and Jake had issues with the producer, Ron Nevison. Ozzy says all the songs sound the same, Jake with Bob Daisley wrote practically all songs except ‘shot in the dark’. however, Jake said that working with Ron Nevison was a pain, he said “when I walked into the studio, it was a question of ‘what will we argue about today?’”. Said that Ron would hear songs a certain way, and so the songs had to be wrote ‘his way’ (Ron’s way). Jake’s full creative freedom wasn’t actually on full display on the ultimate sin album I guess.
