Camino Day 39: Ribadiso to A Salceda

Just 3 more walking days to Santiago. I can’t believe it, every day we get one step closer and every day I have so many mixed feelings!! Just typing DAY 39 seems unbelievable!!
We stayed in one of the best places last night. We all loved it and highly recommend this Pensión. It’s right on the Camino path, but not a standard stop for most pilgrims, but it should be!!
We all woke up, and did our normal morning routines. Andi mentioned that several times throughout the night, I had stopped breathing, for about 4 seconds, and then would gasp and start again. Ugh! I feel so bad, but I’m glad she told me. Sounds like sleep apnea! Blah! I promised I would go to the doctor when I got home, and I’ve already made my appointment. It scared me enough to get on that right away!! I thought with my weight loss and overall healthier lifestyle that I wouldn’t be suffering with this now, but here I am. I’m bummed.
Also at this time I got a text from Ken saying he missed his connecting flight in Seattle (the plane was late), so he is now getting in 1 day later than expected and had to spend the night in Seattle. I know it’s not what he wanted to be worrying about. He too is having to learn to pívot and rethink the “plans”; it’s life right? But I truly feel his disappointment. I just hope he gets on the next flight and arrives safely in Spain.
Someone told me a few weeks ago, “The Camino is life condensed”, meaning out here you may experience many things compiled day after day, but that in regular life those same things would be spread out over years of time. It feels so true! #camino2022 #caminodesantiago
