That mountain climb was brutal, even in September, it was so cold and windy and rainy. I can't imagine in February! And the guy with the fancy stamp in Lalín was so nice. And Bellesar was one of the prettiest towns I've ever seen on a Camino, it looked a lot more lush when I went through. Overall this was by far the loneliest Camino of the six I've done. I started alone, I finished alone, I walked over 99% of it alone. But I liked it? It taught me I can be alone and it's okay. Thanks again for these videos, it was very helpful as always!

We're so glad that you went to see the Lalín pilgrim office! He's soooooo nice. We just finished the Camino de Madrid and that was even lonelier than the Invierno! (we loved them both, though) Thanks for sharing your experience with everyone!

Loved watching your Invierno hike. Planning on doing it this year (2024) and now feel I have a better understanding of what the geography and scenery is like. You were fun to watch, such happiness. 🎉😊❤

the USWE packs look comfortable, which model are you guys using?
@DaysWeSpend11 ай бұрын
Thanks! They are super comfortable and very adjustable. I have the USWE Hajker Pro 24L (bit.ly/4aHwQyn) and Shawn has the 30L version. The 24 L is more than big enough. The packs are pricey but they so worth it. About 2,000 kms walked in mine and besides some stains, it still looks new. No rips, tears, or fraying.

Firstly, thanks for all the Camino content - the packing lists were really helpful! I'm leaving for the Camino De Frances on the 13th May and I'm looking at picking up the Osmo Pocket 2 to record my trip. Your footage looks great & there seem to be a bunch of good reasons for the Pocket over an action cam (mainly image quickly and auto focus) but I had a couple of questions if that's ok? My main hesitation is the lack of weatherproofing - do you find not being able to film in the rain is an issue? Do you use attachment for wireless use at all? I know the battery can't be swapped out but I feel like a powerbank and charging it while not in use probably makes that a non issue? Is the small screen a pain or is it fine once you get used to it? Are there any accessories you'd recommend? Thanks!

Hey Travis. Oof. Big questions. Honestly we love and hate the Osmo pocket. It’s a really good camera for walking (the stabilization is fantastic) and it really is portable and pocketable. However, it doesn’t get five stars because it isn’t weatherproof so when it’s crappy out you can’t shoot with it, and when it’s really wet or cold you have to stash it away in your pack. The auto focus can also be a pain. We’ve had plenty of unusable footage because the focus drifts and the audio can be bad when it’s windy. I know that’s a lot of negative stuff, but I just want you to have a heads up before you spend the money. The camera quality is amazing when it’s working but it’s fragile and you might get frustrated if your specific unit is finicky.

Lainey here, a few more specific answers: Do you use attachment for wireless use at all? No, we don't. I know the battery can't be swapped out but I feel like a powerbank and charging it while not in use probably makes that a non issue? We haven't had an issue with this yet. Is the small screen a pain or is it fine once you get used to it? You get used to it, but we find ourselves connecting the camera to our phone for more specific timelapses or longer shots. Are there any accessories you'd recommend? A good tripod mount! It's so fragile that it's scary to just stand it up. Overall, we have the older model. I think some of our issues with it (focus and sound) are supposed to be improved in the Pocket 2 version.

@@travismoore7763 Sounds great. Let us know how you like the pocket 2. We are due for an upgrade. :)

Thanks for watching. The elevation gains are all in the guidebooks. We used the apps Wise Pilgrim and Buen Camino. You can find that info in the elevation profiles.

I've never been a pilgrim, but wouldn't it be good to take two plastic bags from the supermarket to cover with insulating tape so that your boots don't get wet on the muddy sections?
@DaysWeSpend3 ай бұрын
It’s a good idea and we have thought of that too. Two problems, plastic bags are very slippery and they fall apart easily on a rough trail. We don’t want to leave pieces of plastic behind from the bag or slip in the mud.

pilgrims are a strange breed. they like to walk through green pastures, green forests and hills but expext it never to rain during their walk.
