Honestly? I'd just hardwire in that powerstrip. One less outlet plug hannging out, and then you could use a pancake box (1/2 height outlet box) to hold the connection points). Then you mount the power strip to that wood strap.

A great mod. Lynne and I have looked at a number of RV's over the years. The bench type eating area never worked for me. I always felt they were made for 125 pound people. Fit Lynne but certainly not me. Thanks for allowing us to look over your shoulders.

Pool Noodles split and slide on chair rails each side, then bungee chairs together, works great, no scratches yet on mine!
@StreuB14 жыл бұрын
Yep!! One bungee around the legs to hold them together and thats all you'd need. Once you get to location, pop the pool noodle edge protectors off and the bungee and stow them away.
@StreuB14 жыл бұрын
Looks awesome dude!!! I personally like the traditional table and chairs over integral bench setup, no question.
@joeylawn361114 жыл бұрын
Great Job, Adam. For the chairs, get a bungee cord and put it on a back rib on each chair - this pulls them tight to the table when not in use.

The wife and I love you and Abby's videos. We are looking for a RV, and as a big guy I would love to see a tour of you inside the trailer. How much room the bed has, do you fit in the shower (they all are so small) do you feel safe on the stairs. This would be a great help to us and all the other big folk out there.

I have a video from last summer when we first bought our trailer. Check it out and it shows more detail of the inside.
@seanhorton38114 жыл бұрын
Looks like those outside legs of the table are going to create a tight squeeze to get into the chairs. If that is the case, you might consider doing a mod to the table. Leave the lags next to the wall and remove the outside legs. Replace them with two of the center post legs from the original table mounted in the middle like the old table. You will have plenty of stability from the wood table legs and the room to get in with the center post legs.
@waynespyker57314 жыл бұрын
YES to above leg locations also hard wire the power strip with a pancake box. But first put a generous radius similar to the OEM table on the aisle table top corners.

2 eye bolts small ones on either side under the table to hook a Bungee cord to hold chairs in place while traveling.. we did the same thing in our first travel trailer
@Coffieman51504 жыл бұрын
Nice, I like the look of the table Adam, Though I might suggest small bungee cords for the chairs.. There small and fit in drawers with ease.

Make sure the bracket screws dont penetrate the slide out subfloor, otherwise you will hve some nasty scratches in the linoleum
@GregsShop4 жыл бұрын
Get a pool noodle and cut it in 4 pieces. Slit it with a knife down one side. It will slip on to the vertical sides of the chair backs and keep them from getting banged up. You can hold them in place with Velcro straps or zip ties.
@Dave-in-MD4 жыл бұрын
I think the shaper would have been a better choice for cutting the plywood.

Adam, I think I like these Adventures Vlogs as much if not more than your machinist channel. I enjoy the machining videos but it's something I'm probably never going to be able to do. While your Adventure videos often puts you in places that I frequent, and things I like and stuff I can actually do.

If you just bungee the chairs to the table, they will get beat up (dented) from the bumps and vibration of travel. Put a piece of foam rubber between the chair and the table and then bungee.

@AbomAdventures4 жыл бұрын
You’re wrong though! The other piece of carpet has tan in it so yea! 😂 The white table was more expensive and wouldn’t deliver in time. I went with what worked.
@AnnAnderson-pe2un5 ай бұрын
The only problem I see is how do you get in and sit on the chair because when you slid it around the table you have to constantly move the chair to the wall to get your legs in and then what move it over scooting with your butt. It doesn't look like there's enough room for a body to fit through when you pull out the chair. And you're going to need cushions at the back of the chair and on the seat of the chair you're not going to be able to sit more than an hour on that hard chair working on your computers??

Also it seems like the power strip should have been above the table. Crawling on the floor or under the table and with bad knees as you get older computer station should have plugins at computer level if a laptop. They do have power station where you can put at table level from floor socket. Also talking of storage drawers. Same problem you need that space to get into the chair. I don't think you're going to be able to have any kind of storage at all. I still don't see you guys sliding into those chairs properly.
@AnnAnderson-pe2un5 ай бұрын
Also I would have done different chairs that are comfortable office chairs and yes I may have meant a smaller table but it would be more comfortable for long hours. I mean people sit at an office chair at a desk at home not at their dining room set. I don't want to be somebody that says it's not a good setup but I would not have done this I know because I sat at dining room tables and a lot of people did during the pandemic and they had to switch to office chairs.
@frankmitzen11624 жыл бұрын
Good mod, they use very small d rings to strap down the chairs and table

Why take up the table space and have an unwanted eyesore on top of the table
@ionstorm664 жыл бұрын
And if you ever spilled a drink it would be right in the strip. Speaking of you might want to put some weather strip or caulk between the table and wall to keep out crumbs and such.
@georgevanhaezebrouck88094 жыл бұрын
Abom Adventures sure beats having to struggle to bend down and trying to plug something in, in those tight confines. Of course I’m an old guy so bending isn’t my strong suit.

Tim Hunter well with that gap between the wall and table that power strip is still in harms way. Maybe mount it on the wall right under the window

Tim Hunter no no. The spray glue is to hold it still and tight while you staple the carpet.
