Great idea Rick. Thanks for that! Plumber was here today servicing the house boiler so I sweet talked him into giving me an angled joint and bit of pipe! Now for some crawling under Olive!

Yes, nice video for folks. It's exactly what I did with an old pipe with right angle bend on it, no problems at all now. Doing the fresh water drain pipe today and eventually the sensors. Well done and carry on with the good work..

Afraid I do not have a plumbing drawer... Even through my late grandfather was a plumber.... Do have a set of ramps through! Nice tidy Job done Rick.

It seems a few people don’t have a plumbing drawer 😂

Nice one Rick, I did the same and installed an overflow and lagged the pipes. Oddly it was a Wizzard in the wild vlog where the van passed over the camera that I spotted the lack of lagging so did it along with the tanks. An old Wire coat hanger works for the sensors. 👍👍

Another great video Rick, Whilst underneath I am going to paint the flat retaining bar that supports the water tank with Hammerite, as these can go rusty fairly quickly.

It’s a thumbs up from me big Rick. Just a couple of issues. 1. I don’t have a plumbing draw 2. I don’t have any ramps I could come to your place for a collaboration video if you like and use your ramps and plumbing draw. Good job well done mate. Definitely worth the effort. It’s a job I will definitely get around to. 👍🏻

Ian have you considered your levelling ramps in stead of vehicle ramps. Not as high but thats what I did

@@TravellingfromScratch to be honest Ian I couldn't be bothered to get the proper ramps out so just used the levelling ramps as a cheat - no so high but worked for me 😂

Hi Rick great video again. I fitted the overflow pipe, but when I filled the tank, water still came through the insulation somewhere. I only tightened the pipe by hand, could need tightening with a mole grip, is there anywhere else the water could overflow from ?.

Hi, I’ve no idea if there’s another hole to be honest! I’ll have to check mine as I’m brimming it this weekend

Hi Rick, useful video. Having had an insulation jacket full of water on my van which is a Brownills Evolution CV20 as well I thought I'd copy your fix. Having done the job I decided to check it had worked when I was sterilising the tank, I filled it up expecting to see water come from the new piping, sadly this didn't happen and I ended up once again with an insulation jacket full of water. Now either the overflow to which I've attached the new piping is blocked and there's a further overflow which I haven't located yet or there are by design holes (or a hole) in the top of the tank out of which the water is coming. Have you checked to see if the fix works on your van or have any further thoughts on the issue?
@RickandHeather2 жыл бұрын
Yes I’ve filled the tank to overflow and watched it come out of my pipe.

Thank you - Useful video - thanks for sharing - is the cable tie just through the insulation to stop it flapping about? - David 👍

Yep exactly that….

Good jobs done! :-) The overflow pipe didn't have to be so long? Couple of inches so it keeps out the water from going behind the Jacket. I assume it's not pourous.
@RickandHeather3 жыл бұрын
I did contemplate a short bit but I had lots of pipe 😂

Hi Rick, how did you attach the elbow to the water tank? Is there a bit of pipe on the side of the tank to attach it to. Regards Ted
@RickandHeather3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ted, there’s about an inch sticking out just where the fill pipe enters the tank, you can see on the video but only just (bad cameraman 😂) it might be covered by a bit of the insulation. A 15mm push fit goes straight on. Rick.

Great job Rick! Isn't about appearances but functionality, and who is going to look underneath? If it works, wonderful! I would definitely hold off on other "fixes" ; it has become bloody cold where I am, and starting next week, cold enough that it will feel like Siberia, the hell with Alaska! Boris the Clown 🤡, 😂 LOL!

The van is definitely built to a budget, that said I guess unless you have a really expensive van that’s bespoke it’s all about the money saved.
