Amazing, I found this out this morning, filled up my tank and the insulation filled up like a balloon. This popped up on my youtube. Thanks so much for showing how this is done. Come on Elddis, these are basic faults. Also found the common problem, my leisure battery was not tightened down.

Pleased it’s come in handy - I believe Roger had spotted that there may also be another place where it can leak (around the seal for the level gauge sensor I believe) - I’ve not had that problem but one to be aware of. I had the same with leisure battery too. Thanks again, have a great weekend All the best, David 👍

Haha, 7/10 for the chock dismount. Yet another mod which Elddis should really have sorted out from the start. Good work though!

Thank you - was really glad I moved my phone off the ramp and had popped it on there - that would have been an expensive mistake 😀 all the best, David 👍

Hi David and all, just to offer, that some of us CV owners now certainly appear to have most likely( 1 tank removed and shown to be so) have a poor seal for the tank guage( this is at the very top of the tank). The gauge is poorly sealed, thus a leak occurs above the location of the " customer added overflow extension pipe). Cheers agai for all you vids

Thanks Roger, appreciated. I wonder if all have the seal issue or if it’s sporadic? Appreciate the heads up - all the best, David 👍

If you see the images of the removed tank on CV owners. Seems sparodic, one could live with it or drop the tank. The latter really if one has the winterpack. Cheers David

Brilliant job David and the same method as I did ours but I didn't insulate the overflow. I even used our leveling ramps but did it to one side to ease access where required. Definitely wise regards the safety points. Oops with the chocks but good that you have shown it. 👍

And it was all going 😂😂😂😂😂😂so well David. I like the flexi idea rather than rigid 15mm Speedfit I've seen Graham, Rick & Ian use but not sure I will be going to the trouble of insulating. Cheers K.

Thank you - will remember not to do that again (I hope) 😀 I used the insulation to help it sit nice and straight and to tone down the blue pipe as it stood out a bit without it if you looked at the van from a distance underneath. I also thought well it won’t harm from a frost perspective either whilst really unlikely to freeze. All the best, David 👍

I see you insulated yours as well. Nice job David. Lovely dismount 🤣😂

Thank you. Hopefully learned my lesson on that one and will remember to check next time 😀 Yes I insulated as it wasn’t sitting right without it (was bending up) and made it easier to secure to the clip (all be it I could have made a bigger offset piece to hold it) - i did think well it won’t harm and it toned down the blue pipe too 😀 All the best, David 👍

Only criticism why insulate what can’t have water in?
@LeisureBit2 жыл бұрын
Great point - I should have explained it in the vlog (always miss something 😊), I made the pipe up months ago and it’s been sat around waiting to be fitted and without the insulation it was curling a little bit so not sitting straight and looked a bit bright in the blue. It also helped secure it but more just spacing convenience (unintentional benefit) I did think well it won’t harm from a frost perspective but probably only 1 in a million times when it would really make a difference. Thank you, all the best, David 👍

I did same prior to driving my new CV20 away from Spinney motorhomes on 26th April 2022.Problem is there is a vent above the overflow you are installing. If this upper vent is not there a vacum is likely SO extreme care/ slow top up for a full freshwater tank. Problem is one needs to be watching the overflow as you are filling, so really 2 people required. This is a good idea, but only if owners are aware overflowing may still occur particularly if the CV is not too level

Thanks Roger. I spotted your post on that - very sound advice. I normally put a measured amount of water in so unlikely to regularly overfill but when you’re away for a while its difficult to keep an exact track on how much you need to top up by so that’s where my risk comes of overfilling. Watch this space, I have had an idea and just working it through to see if it’s practical. Anything to make things easier when you’re out and about - thanks again, all the best, David 👍

Hi David, Fascinating video and as usual explained so clearly. What type of ramp did you use . I'm interested as it seems to split into two halves
@LeisureBit2 ай бұрын
Thank you - really appreciated. The ramps are very useful and you're right they split into two parts which is handy - They are the Durhand Heavy Duty 5 Tonne Plastic Ramps (the ones I bought are in the Vehicle and Security section of our Amazon Store (Amazon . co . uk /shop/leisurebit if you struggle to find them) and they seem to be pretty decent - all be it I've only used them maybe half a dozen times. All the best, David

Loving the MODS David, your presentation is excellent. Here is the but!!! I can't see the point in the insulation as the pipe will not have water in it for 99.99999% of the time, and if it does it will receive warmish water from your water tank. On another note, I wonder if its worth putting a filter screen on the end of the water pipe to stop any chance of bugs crawling inside?
@LeisureBit2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. You’re right ref the insulation there would be very few times when it would add any cold protection benefits. I found that the pipe curled up slightly without the insulation (it may have settled and straightened in time) and it stood out a bit being blue, it also made it a bit easier to fix to the bracket to help secure it a little more. I also thought it won’t harm either. Good idea ref the filter screen to stop anything crawling up 👍

And nothing to stop bugs from crawling in?
@LeisureBit29 күн бұрын
You could put a little mesh on the end to stop anything getting in if you wanted to. It was open at the top previously so probably more difficult now for bugs to get in.
