You seem like a really amazing person. I've had depression and anxiety for years. Especially since the current lockdown. So many sleepless nights worrying recently. I discovered your channel yesterday and watched 3 or 4 episodes in a row. I had the best night sleep in months. I find it so incredibly relaxing and therapeutic to watch. Also very inspiring. It reminded me how much I love camping and bushcraft. The music you play is awesome too, and I love the random camera shots of nature in your videos. I can see you are an artist at heart. It's so important to do the things you love. That's when we are at our best and our happiest. I've just woken up this morning and started watching your channel again. It made me so hungry, so I cooked a huge fry up. I feel great now. Looking forward to get out to nature again. Than kyou so much for these great videos! Keep up the good work :) Kind regards, Adam.

Thanks for telling your story. Its weird how you can have a connection with someone you never have met but i feel like we are all spiritually connected somehow and I feel like i can relate to you a lot. I have had anxiety all my life and weird outbursts that landed me in some very strange situations i'd rather not talk about on the internet. And I definitely agree with you about nature. There is something about nature that is so soothing, and cooking over a fire is real, its so much different than what we've been taught in "civilized" society. Always enjoy your videos Andy. Thank you for starting the male mental health discussion. I live in Texas where the common expression is”Cowboy Up”. I’m 62 and have all the normal concerns, work in a high pressure Aviation job, and have a mentally disabled wife. I have my faith, walk my dog 1/2 mile every evening and she expects 2 miles every weekend day. We spend our time in the local woods hiking and cooking, I have her and a great grown daughter to talk to. Even with all this sometimes I feel on the edge. I escape with you, Joe Robinet, Doug Outside, Shawn James and the faith based Bushcraft Barton’s. Foreign lands and different landscapes in England and Canada. Thanks again and Great Steak!

First of all, congrats on the new haircut and the trim... Looking good brother! Secondly, thanks for sharing this video with us and sharing your feelings and trying to promote this important matter, it's never easy to talk about personal stuff, especially on such big platform. As an ex-military soldier and as a citizen these days, I live in the Middle-East and it's a difficult and tough here, growing up as a teenager and then the time served in the army and even now as an adult, these stuff keep piling up over time, and it's getting harder and harder to share with someone or even talk about it... Even after all these years, there's some shit I can't get over till this day or talk about. So thank you for sharing your story, or part of it anyway, it's a huge deal. I can relate to the nature stuff, I'm a closed person as well, I do try to connect with nature to keep my mind out of the every day tasks and routine, and do things which makes me happy... like bushcraft, camping, fishing. This is why I love to watch these channels, it makes me happy when I can't get outside. So thank you again for that! Respect and Salute mate.
@KentSurvival6 жыл бұрын
Hey, thank you very much indeed. I was dreading the talk but it actually felt good in the end and flowed out.. maybe because I was talking to a camera. I can only imagine how hard it is for somebody like yourself with those experiences.. we do just all have to find what works for us and hopefully have the support needed around us. I do love getting outside but I am now aware that sometimes by doing so I am avoiding things so as with everything.. balance. Thanks again for commenting and sharing, ATB - hope you're doing alright.

Genuinely you are the best chef I have ever come across. You make gourmet meals with little effort. You do not need all the fancy appliances and pots and pans to have top notch results. Naturally delicious and the environment you cook in lends itself well to your rustic cooking, making it authentic. That meal looks so good. I am drooling :). You inspire us to do this. We are considering making and eating our Thanks giving dinner outside this year weather permitting. I saw your cutting board and my husband cut me some discs of wood and I am making a few of them for Christmas gifts this year. You are so mentally healthy as you know what is real and important in life and not caught up in the web of superficial living. God Bless You and keep those videos coming. that steak sure looked good , I enjoyed watching your "show us your Steak " challenge video - as a person who has worked in mental health for 18 years it is so refreshing to see people with a positive attitude towards this terrible illness which has and will continue to damage thousands of people each year ! the ratio is now 1 in 4 people will suffer with some form of mental illness at some point in their lives ! in my work I have come across so much ignorance towards the subject even from the medical world ! the answer is not found in bottles of pills that numb the mind - the answer as this challenge shows is to go out and talk about it !! so I thank you for the information you gave and lets all hope that the message will get out there to those struggling with life

Totally agree with you with your speech about getting out there, nature is missing in our lives.. I usually don't stay out over night, but when I take my bag and walk out "just one hour", it usually ends up being 6h or more.

Nice one Andy, well presented as usual. First thing I thought was...bet his lugs are cold..lol !. My wife presented me with a tomahawk steak just the other day, I did it in on the BBQ....deeeelish..! I have been under a bit of a cloud myself the last few years, both mentally and physically for various reasons...and my health isn't the best at present. The GPs at my local health centre have been good listeners and that has helped. The bushcraft channels I find have helped, like you said...it takes me back to past boyhood experiences of wild camping etc when life felt a bit more special..!. Of late I have built up a good collection of new camping gear....all I need is to push myself to get out. So aye, great stuff...cheers 👍

WOW! That steak and spuds looked pretty amazing. Thanks for your incredible knack of explaining the important subject of mental health awareness issues too us Andy. You are so right about all that you mentioned. I also believe that this needs to be addressed to all, as no one would ever expect that it could happen to them, their family or friends, yet it does! Thanks again for sharing this awesome video. Take care mate. ATB. Steve. 👍👍
