In this video we review Skidaway Island State Park campground. A hidden gem in Savannah, GA. We were only there for 2 days as we make our way south. But this campground and park left us wishing we could stay longer. Find out why and will Tucker approve.

We just left Skidaway after a two week stay. Agree w everything you noted. Skidaway is top of our list too. Only negative was some ridiculous people and had nothing to do with the park. Evidently there was a bit of a feud between two campers near us…one couple, who btw had their large rig lit up like the circus was in town, let their large dog do it’s duty on various sites, at bathhouse and even walked between sites and let him leave a load - never picked up. Most campers had something to say about them although they still didn’t clean up. The second camper picked up what was left on their site, not sure if they spoke to the offender but that afternoon camp host stopped and asked if we’d heard a yapping dog from the site of the camper who was left a gift and picked up the poo. We had heard it but it was a tiny dog and not loud enough to be annoying. Couldn’t help but wonder if the first offender reported the yapping dog to be spiteful. Wrote it off as entertainment but sure wish people would just be kind and responsible at campsites.

It's sad to hear about people acting that way. We are hearing more and more stories about people with little or no camping etiquette. Hopefully it didn't affect your stay. On your way back please try campgrounds at Clarks Hill Lake ( Lake Thurmond) over a 1000 mile shore line and beautiful camp sites and a beautiful Lake Located outside Augusta Georgia home of Masters Golf Tournament. Try to stay a couple of days.

What I've done in the past is check reviews on Google and the campground website to see how big the sites are ect Some older campgrounds have smaller sites and roads and with your class A and a toad that's something to always try and know ahead of time and if you'll have a pull through. I tow a 12' trailer and I'd prefer a pull through anytime. Enjoyed the video. I agree with your wife, night time is creepy in state parks it's always so dark. I have two senior dogs.
