Leaving directly from work requires wearing the work cloths. A much more colorful selection of shirts !

OK.. you sound like me going up there. I had to catch my breath a lot at the end of this trail! I messed my knee up on this trail and it took months to be able to hike again. It's those BIG steps that knocked it out. I still have issues with that knee!

Ya, for the last year I have done far more driving and sitting in a chair than getting any exercise. I am loosing ground fast. I just re-opened the fitness center at my work, I may have to visit it a few times a week for the foreseeable future! I have plans to do a lot of hiking!!

Loved seeing your dogs face at the end. He was exhausted from a great hike and I'm sure he re-played the hike in his dreams.

When he replays it in his dreams, he is running WAYY ahead and dragging me along! LOL. Thanks for the comment !

The geese are leaving Syracuse area in droves. Will probably follow soon. Having trouble deciding where to go. I don't want to go to Florida again, but don't like the west much. National Forests are my choice. Thanks for taking us along with you.

Ya, I think I am with you. I would never be able to spend the winter in Florida, Texas is pretty nice in places. No Idea how crowded it will be this year. Georgia is a very large state, lots of places, but not sure of the facilities. Good luck, Stay in touch and let us know! Thanks for the comment! Stay safe!

Thank you for taking us on your journeys. I missed not being able to travel this year so I am enjoying your trips with Akela. However, I was able to install a 100 watt flexible solar panel on my Aliner and placed the charge controller inside. Now I will need to upgrade the stock battery. Wishing you and Akela safe journeys.

Thank you! Its a good year to tinker with the trailer. You can buy some impressive lithium batteries on Ebay for pretty cheap, and thye are still very good batteries, especially for our type of use!

Thank you Rick, Another enjoyable hike. I do hope Akela is feeling better. He's a strong dog I think, he should be OK. All he needs is a new stick to cheer him up. We all need rain especially here in Australia. We don't want anymore bush fires this summer, our summer starts on 01 November .We have had some good rain on some of our farming areas but it's patchy. Safe travels..
@GoingNoWhereFast4 жыл бұрын
I will send you some rain!! We have plenty, though I don't take it lightly, its great to be green and fire free. I hope you get rain there soon! Thanks for coming along. I actually thought about you on this hike, climbing over these huge rocky outcrops reminded me of Pictures I have seen of your beautiful country! Stay safe. Great to hear from you!

@@GoingNoWhereFast Well i feel very privileged Rick.Please send rain or do a rain dance . we do have beautiful rocks including the world's largest Ularu (Ayers Rock to the English colonists). The Aboriginals" navel of the world". An amazing.and powerful place. Close to my home is Lillian Rocks which is a scared place for traditional owners for over 40,000 years. You may wish to google it. I am off tent camping this weekend to beautiful Yamba on the Clarence River For the Food and Crafts special market on Sunday. Very alternate people attend.along with people that can afford to live in Yamba. Taking my fishing gear. Heavy rain is forecast maybe thunderstorms. I have a good free campsite picked out nearby . I will be snug and dry . However I am really scared of lightening strikes. I guess i can get in my car. Is a car safer during lightening strikes? I have no idea Yamba is an aboriginal word meaning Headland in English. Cheers, Polly

Wife and I just got back from a short stay at Chilhowee in Benton, TN. Saw you had a new video posted and started watching and laughing about the acorns because we went through the same thing on this trip. Amazing how much noise a small acorn can make when it hits the roof of the trailer. Anyway, loved the hike and hope Akela gets better soon.

Yes, little acorn make BIG noise! Thanks for the comment. I'll tell Akela you send him love. Stay Safe !

Really a beautiful park. That was quite the hike, you're not usually puffing, lol. Akela not slowing much, he's raring to go. Hopefully all turns out well for him. Thanks for taking us along. Be safe. 😊👍

Thanks 👍 He is beyond feeling pain I think! As long as he is moving, he is happy! It was a very steep trail!! And Holding DOg and Camera is a challenge in itself! LOL But great fun, We will be back !

Hopefully, What we think he has is usually temporary, though it lasts a few weeks while his body figures out what it did wrong. I will tell him you send him best wishes! Always good to see you !

Very Rustic! Nice. That trail looks tough to do! Great view. Love the stills of all the vegetation. Hope your puppy feels better! Thank for the tour! Hoping to find a nice class C to snowbird. Have a hybrid trailer but my skills of trailer backing have, for whatever reason, disappeared. Go figure...32 years of school bus driving and it's humiliating! Grrr! Let us know what the temps are like as you go along. Just going south for the first time and don't know what to expect.
@GoingNoWhereFast4 жыл бұрын
Don't feel bad! Everything is backwards when you back up a trailer as opposed to a bus. In my area I notice the temps are usually about 10 degrees warmer than in NY, unless there is a really bad cold front that just stays up in NY. Thanks for the comment 👍

Great Video, thanks so much! I have been meaning to drive up to Hanging Rock all summer to see if any of the sites were suitable for our Chalet A Frame. You should sometime check out Dan Nicholas Park Campground in Rowan County. We were just there last weekend. County Park, good hiking and Mountain Biking Trails Fishing lake with paddle boat rentals.
@GoingNoWhereFast4 жыл бұрын
I've been to Dan Nicholas several times. It is always packed with people on any good weekend. I've never been able to get a reservation. Its also just a bit too close to home for me. I do like my real bed and Bathroom versus the trailer!! LOL But it is a fantastic local campground. So is Hager Stone up near High Point.

Ha ha ha... Its been a foggy season so far. Though that could be mostly in my mind!!! LOL Thanks for the comment !

Thanks for showing the campground. Do some of the sites have room for a 20’ trailer and pickup truck? I hope your dog is feeling better.
@GoingNoWhereFast4 жыл бұрын
I think so. The problem is which ones before you make a reservation. I think some of the sites I point out in the video I mention they look look very long or deep or wide. Almost all of the sites would easily handle a 20ft trailer with the vehicle unhitched.

I doubt it;s any worse than being pelted by black walnut pods all night long at the Mohican State Park. I was sure the squirrels were using them like baseballs. LOL

Hhhhhmmmm.. They have a softer shell than an acorn, but I will take your word for it. There ae many reason to camp in the open, unless your trying to stay cooler! LOL... Thanks for the comment !
