Camping In a "Bob Ross" Painting with Pack Goats & Dogs Fishing & Firebox Freestyle Stove Cooking!

What a Spot!
Have my goats packed me into a "Bob Ross" Painting?! Such an amazing place for camping out under the stars and eating good food cooked over a wood flame in my Firebox Freestyle Folding Campfire Stove.
This was such a treat of an adventure with my animal friends: Bill, Levi, Juni and Maggie so much enjoyment to be had in search an amazingly beautiful natural place. A perfect place to forget your problems and re-charge. A quick re-set, some real living before heading back to regular life.
As many of you know, I'm an inventor who develops camping gear, mostly oriented towards cooking in the back country. Over the years I've developed several stove and cookware systems to suit a variety of circumstances and camping styles. In this video I went with a more minimal solo oriented cooks set combined with our Freestyle fire pit style wood-burning cookstove. To save weight I left some of the convenience pieces and parts home bringing the minimum for what I planned to do.
I know that having a variety of product options can make decisions more difficult. I think the easiest way to get into the family of firebox products is to first get what speaks to you the most and give it a try. Once you've experienced Firebox flavor you'll better know which direction you may want to explore next. There aren't bad choices. I'm a dog person and I have this hairy fairy idea that the Universe sends you the dog that you need. I was taken by Maggie's "help" and enthusiam with your trout fishing. She is so alive and present. I have no idea if she understands fishing but that isn't important. What a dog for you!

For a while I wondered if she understood fishing but now I believe that she totally gets it and is so into it! In fact I confirmed it by getting my fishing pole out at home and she immediately got excited thinking we were going to go fishing. Thanks for your thoughtful comment.

I love it.., I have a big Nubian weather that was a bottle baby.... I've thought of getting packs... I currently have two bottle fed does... This makes me want to train the two little ones.... My Nubian weighs about 230 pounds... lol he could pack a whole camp... He about 6 Years old now... and not trained for anything ... lol. Awesome video..!

Try taking him out away from everything that is recognizable to him and see if he follows you. I bet he doesn't let you out of his sight. If he was a bottle baby he'll likely want to stay with you. I have taken baby goats from their herd out to a unrecognized field and had them run in the opposite direction of me because they had never been bonded with a person.

What a lovely overnight camp in a beautiful location. Sorry you didn’t get a trout to eat but the one you caught will provide great memories. I love that even the dogs have to pack their own food. That Maggie sure is a pistol. Looked like a great location for swimming but I imagine that is all snowmelt so quite cold. Enjoyed the goat-cam.

Question for ya: with the freezing temps causing a mosquito die off, would that not cause a lot of mosquitoes to land in the water and become fish food and therefore they might have had their fill - causing disinterest in your lures? 2nd: I'm still waiting for that day when one of the goats decides to head-butt you into the lake?!?!

Lol! Very clever! All of a sudden the universe makes sense! Your hypothesis is good! I wish we had a way to confirm. I don't think they'll ever butt me into the lake. They used to challenge me but were always up front about it. I've given them plenty of chances to take a cheap shot and they've never gone there... I think I can trust them especially now that we've been hanging out for 5 years.

This is NOT a complaint, just a comment... I know that different regions of the country have different names for bodies of water, but in all the areas I've lived in this body would be called a 'pond' and not a lake. Unless the camera is making it look smaller than it really is. Nothing wrong with that, just a comment on nomenclature. Regardless of what we all would choose to call it, it's a beautiful place. I'd be there in a heartbeat if I were close.

Yeah, it's hard to see the whole lake from any one place it's quite a bit bigger than what this video shows. Long and narrow with some twists and turns. It's a small lake. If it were only the one end where I Played fetch with Maggie It would be a pond.
