Longest underground campout I had was three nights, 4 days in a mine here in Utah. 22 miles of tunnels that covered 3500' of elevation changes. So deep that you have to camp to really explore all of it. Old mines aren't as dangerous as everyone tells you, especially if you're being cautious and go in very prepared. It's like watching anxiety-ridden Piglet go camping in Winnie the Pooh and I love every second of it. Dangers everywhere: the bears, the slippery rocks, the contaminated water, the slanted ground at dusk, the fear of heights, the SLUG....lolll

People watch adventure & exploring videos and don't get that adventure is 95% dead ends and backtracking and getting stuck in the mud and risk assessment and being quiet and taking it all in. One of my favourite things about your videos is that you are so real about the less glamorous and exciting parts. Thanks for bring us along in your adventures!

Exactly! And all those dead ends are worth it when you find something truly adventurous.

These collabs with the, man the myth, the legend: Crazy Neighbor have turned out to be some of my favorite videos. My daughter also enjoys these and frequently requests “camping videos” before bedtime. I’m thankful for her interest in all things outdoors. Thank you from Oregon for all of the quality content over the years. Hope you’re doing well and hunkering down, Steve and Crazy Neighbor.

Man, Steve, I'll let you know that, for a brief moment in humanity's history, you will be remembered as a Legend that popularized stealth camping on KZbin. I've seen a lot of people do these kinda videos that are inspired by you, heck, even I who never camped before, am planning to get myself a small Renault Twingo and start doing mini car camping myself.

Speaking as someone who is older and very orthopedically challenged (Lower back, hip, both knees), using a trekking pole makes a world of difference in taking pressure off of arthritic joints. You wouldn't think it would make much difference, but it really does, plus it gives another point of contact on slippery trails. Great video, Steve!

Steve, you don’t need to keep justifying what you do. We love watching you on your adventures and when you sit by the campfire and talk about life. You are inspiring and consistently remind us that we are all quite similar. Keep up the good work and thanks for allowing me to live vicariously through your travels!

Hey Steve! This is the Thistle Mine, we explored both levels last year. Good job getting there, it’s quite the hike in. Here’s some info on the mine if anyone is interested. Discovered in the early 1900’s this is a gold, silver and copper mine. Little production has been done in this mine due to low values and the cost to remove and transport the material. The mine has been worked by multiple companies but most of the work being done by the 30’s. Exploring An Abandoned Mine On An Island kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zp2up3qqnshmjNk

@@kevlar0991 Some ppl don’t like it when these locations are shared and it’s understandable. We have a channel and all we do is explore mines, we don’t always name them, but when we do….. lol This one is well known and on a hiking app, so it’s fair game.. That being said, someone has the claim title, so exploring respectfully is important!!
