If you need olive oil on a frozen morning, you could always pour it in the pan the previous evening, let it freeze, and thaw it out on the stove first thing. It doesn't hurt the oil at all, and saves packing two different kinds of oil.

Velcro and magnets are both a good idea. My first thought: add a 2 - 3 inch strip to both sides, fold inside tent, cut some slots in one side and tabs to fit, use some binder clips at top and bottom, or possibly you could just use a dozen or so of those clips, they're cheap AF & made for holding that stuff together anyways. South Carolina here. Sun sets in winter at about 5:45. Can be as late at 8:30 in the summer. Definitely wild to see the differences between our two countries. Love your channel. Has started getting me out camping again! Oh. Definitely one of benefits of living there as opposed to here is the food for camping. It can be a pain keeping food cold for a couple of days or even a day here. Always forget that you are camping basically in a fridge. Lol. Plus warm food is so much more savory and hits the spot in the cold rather than the hotter temps here.

This is a very inspiring post! Thanks!! I would add a black plastic floor, it would help with heat accumulation. Also have the door be a double doors, prop them open to deflect wind and build a small camp fire with a reflection wall behind it to reflect heat into the structure.

Nice folding design! You’ve actually given me an idea. I’m gonna try make a rectangle folding one. A distorted square improvised from the folding firebox stove design. No idea what the roof will look like but i’ll try a few designs. Cheers~!

Couple of fire sticks should do for the roof!

While googling a assortment of fire pits and doomsday scenarios, your channel popped up through KZbin algorithm. It's been a couple of weeks since I've been watching your impromptu videos. It got me thinking. First, I've should of never thrown those Canadian coins away as a kid. Second, Chilliwack should be in the RRHOF. Third, it takes a video such as yours to inspire this Southwest Texas boy to one day go camping for the very first time ever! Steve, if I may... Heres to some good camp grub, DIY shelters and adult beverages! May the Hunker Down Gods be ever in your favor! See you on the other side of the camp fire... -Kev-O
