Camping on Swan Lake Canoe Route Alaska

Join us on an unforgettable weekend backcountry canoe trip as we venture into the pristine beauty of the Swan Lake Canoe Route. Accompanied by our good friend Tonia and her trusty doggos, we embarked on a camping journey filled with outdoor excitement, natural wonders, and unforgettable memories.
Our adventure begins as we launch our canoes into the serene Canoe Lake 1, the starting point of our wilderness journey. Navigating through the lily pad choked waters, we soon discovered a hidden gem of a campsite, where we set up our base for the weekend.
Fishing enthusiasts at heart, we eagerly cast our lines into the lake, hoping for a fresh catch. However, an unexpected mishap led to a broken fishing rod, adding a touch of challenge to our angling aspirations. But the wilderness had more in store for us, and we were in for a surprise - a majestic moose sighting, a truly remarkable encounter with one of nature's giants.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we gathered around a crackling bonfire and indulged in a sumptuous Thanksgiving feast - or a least a dehydrated approximation of one.
Our adventure continued into the evening, with a return to the tranquil waters for some sunset fishing. The shimmering reflections of the fading light and the stillness of the lake provided a surreal backdrop.
The next day, our exploration led us to the nearby portages, offering a gateway to other pristine lakes in the region. While we didn't venture too far, the possibility of future explorations was on our minds, promising more exciting adventures to come.
This weekend on the Swan Lake Canoe Route was a testament to the beauty of the outdoors, the joy of shared experiences, and the simple pleasures of nature. Join us as we relive these cherished moments and inspire you to embark on your wilderness adventures.

Yes I’d be interested in food prep. I saw in one of your previous videos, the sheep hunting one, your dehydrator. What brand is it? This video was so amazing. Thank you so much for your kind words about our videos! Our dehydrator is a Septree brand, model ST-01. We don’t have a lot of experience with it yet, the Sheep hunting trip was our first big use of it, but it was very easy and straightforward to use. We’re definitely planning on playing around with it more and we can shoot some video of that!
