After 10 years of promising that we'd find time... after 5 toddlers spaced across a decade and a half, Alpine Greta and I FINALLY locked in a 3-day weekend to paddle Alaska's Delta River, taking off from Tangle Lakes on the Denali Highway, headed north through lakes 1-4 then beginning the Delta River, headed to the portage around the canyon, then paddling to the take-out at 212.5 mile on the Richardson Highway.
The Lakes, Portage, & Whitewater sections are included in this episode, so don't miss it!
After a summer of cool and wet weather, the river was UP! I've paddled this stretch 3x in three different years, and this was quite a spicy run in my Wenonah Solo Plus (royalex) setup for tandem paddling (this time).
We want to thank Turtle Fur, Wintergreen, Wenonah, Adventure Medical Kits, Sawyer Products, Alp-n-Rock, Le Chameau, Xtra-Tuff & Salmon Sisters, Wool X Wool, and Bending Branches paddles.
Episode 2 is Now live here: • Canoeing Alaska's Delt...

I've been watching lots of yukon area river canoe trips this winter and its got me itching to get on the water next spring. Thought I'd start with something within 100 miles of home and this fits the bill. Thanks for posting / sharing this video.
