I was homeless for several years and camped under a bridge several times. In the beginning I only had a sleeping bag camping under a bridge and waking up in the morning with geese standing at the foot of my sleeping bag. When I got hired by the company I still work for now I lived in a tent under a bridge about 1 mile from work for the first 8 months I worked there. Today I worked my way up from a entry level 2 position to a scale 8 position and now I own my own home with 2.5 acres of land, a newer jeep, and I'm living great

Interesting quotations (some of these would be great ads): - “Everyone’s childhood dream is to sleep under a bridge” - “Bridges: nature’s shelter” - Tire’s brand of camping stuff: “it’s not absolute garbage” - “If every bridge in the world was like this, the world would be a perfect place” - “I go camping for convenience” - And, finally, the next day: “It was basically the worst sleep of my life last night”. Loved it ;)

The best thing I love about this dude is he’s like me, loving living the hobo life without being a hobo. Just sees a cool spot and thinks “yeah I wanna get away and sleep under that bridge”. Keeping it humble

I dunno, I spent some time under bridges as a kid. That sounds weird. I mean I was a free-range 80s/early 90s kid and we would sometimes just hang out under bridges as part of a bike-riding adventure etc. I always wondered what it would be like to spend a night there. Other place I wanted to spend the night was in a department store/mall after it was closed. It just seemed kind of illicit and fun. Perhaps I was just odd. Or maybe Edmonton just has particularly enticing bridges?

There was a great bridge in the farm town I grew up in. There were 2 tunnels side by side, about 8 foot high and 8 foot wide and the width of a 2 lane main road with sidewalks. It was for when the dam overflowed, which I only saw once in 30 years. Never slept there but did spend a good bit of time under there. Traffic was minimal, especially at night.

You gotta get some boiling action in those mac cups. They're not really an "add hot water" formula. That's why they have all that white powdery crap in em. Add your cheese after noodles are cooked too :-)

Cheap foam earplugs might help in these types of noisy sleep situations. Might not be good in case something or someone approaches you in the middle of the night but it’d work.
