Awesome! Just watch out when you're doing the dips. It's easy to drop too far down and "rest" on the shoulders. Don't use full shoulder mobility but instead stop one or two inches to avoid shoulder strain/injuries. You're doing good for only a month of training!

Sadly, I can confirm this from my experience - the same ligament on both shoulders is always inflamed for a few days after doing 'proper' range of motion dips. I know that people say you should do full range of motion, but what they omit telling you is to do full SAFE range of motion.

For anyone wondering if they should/shouldn't buy the rings..buy them, they're definitely worth it,especially now during winter when you cant use bars because they're too cold. I've bought them about few months ago,and in just a few months of training i saw so much more improvement than working out 2 years on bars - especially since i can train rear, middle and front delts, can target each part of pecs, can actually progress in one arm pull up by lowering one ring so it makes the other hand work more, and can also quite more easily isolate biceps and triceps, and many many other things... There are no negatives about the rings since i bought them,if you use them smart.

Heck yeah, I love my rings! My favourite exercise equipment by far. Thanks for making this video, I am sure it has inspired many people to give rings a try. One small nitpick at 7:38 - you're trying to warm up your rotator cuffs in an outward motion, but the pull is downwards (gravity), which is counterproductive. Anchor a resistance band on a vertical pole, and pull at it instead :D

Calisthenics, rings, and basic body weight exercises have completely changed my workout life. And I think what this person talks about at 9:25 is the reason why. He talks about clean reps. I notice in the calisthenics world people are always talking about good clean reps. Ex. pull ups from a dead hang at a slow tempo, not ego pull ups from half way down and frantically fast, dips where you drop all the way down, not just half way. And this goes for squats too. They should be a55 to the grass.

Rings are crazy, you think you are solid on the bar, then u buy rings, hang them up and they humble you so hard. I also need to rest a lot more at the beginning to not overburn my tendons and muscles. And the dude saying do 2 reps less than failure is sooo important. Your fine fibers and tendons are not ready, don't burn them. I did and I learned to step back and respect the ring as a crazy intense body exercise.

Here is a tip if you still need it. When I got enough strength it still took me weeks to figure out the muscle up on rings. The one golden moment is when I tried the muscle up in an L sit. It's way easier. So try it in L sit if you can!

nice vid man, ive subbed. Speaking from experience i have managed to achieve some muscle ups on rings (unfortunately cannot share due to it being recorded on an old phone) my method was weighted chinups and dips (on reg equipment), muscle up transition practice with a resistance band looped around the rings and under your butt essentially making a seat that boosts you up and then just straight bodyweight chins and dips on rings. took me about 4 months of solid practice, like 3-4 days per week. i just obeyed simple prog overload except for skillbased stuff. its a helluva feeling nailing one! and i managed to nail five.

So putting effort in pecs and shoulders and triceps. Weird as my tricep pushdowns are high weights ,maybe wrong technique , but i weigh 89Kg

When you're doing dips on the rings try to find a higher mounting point for the straps as now the angle of the straps is changing as your hands move a little in and out with each rep. Also look for swings as they are often much higher than any pullup bar, plus they are braced at about a 60 degree angle so its rock solid, unlike that flimsy squat rack thing you have outside at home. That is rather pointless as it's moving when you're moving. At home mount a bar to your ceiling (very securely using multiple mounting points...be very redundant!) using headless bolts that have a wood thread and a machine thread for anchoring the bar to or a large plate of thick plywood or steel. You want your mount spread out over as large an area as possible. Try to keep your legs straight, whether in your L-sit or normal vertical position. Again you'll need a higher mounting point for those straps. And spread the straps apart more when you're doing dips so the straps don't rub your forearms. It's a little harder but far more comfortable. So few people understand this. If you lose a little bit of fat you will see a huge increase in calisthenics performance. It's shocking how much easier things can be when we shed a few pounds. Try to work out before eating as well, after defecation so you're lighter. Everything helps. Say NO to breakfast, the most pointless meal of the day. Nothing but room temperature, purified water for a few hours is best. Zero caffeine. We don't need more stimulants in our life. You've got a good bone structure for this if you can get lean. You will be very surprised what you will be able to do in a while if you continue and don't give up. Calisthenics can be discouraging when you see roided out people doing impossible moves. Ignore them. Just focus on how good you feel after each workout and that will draw you back. Your video work is really good. Very easy to watch. No wonder you have half a million subs.

Brother, I hate to be "that guy" in the comments, but look at your wrists at 7:12 and 7:17 and 8:35. You really have to get the wrists parallel with the bar and floor; not all twisted like that. You are losing gains and causing unnecessary joint issues.

Well done. Very impressive. If you stop progressing with your calisthenics, add some weight on a belt, reduce your rep count, and start growing again. When you get back to the same rep count you had when you started, add more weight...repeat. Do some Russian kettlebell swings or Dead Lifts to link all of your power together. You are doing great.

I have seen incredible progress with pull ups since I started with doing 6-8 reps for 3 sets with slowly increasing my weight. If I could properly do 8 reps for 3 sets I would increase the weight by 0.5 kg. In June I could do 11 pull ups or 6 with 4 kg for 3 sets in a row and now I can do around 22 or 7 with 9 kg for 3 sets in a row. Clean form, chin above the bar and full range of motion with a stop at the bottom. The hardest part was probably not rushing it and correcting my form, because before that I did half reps.

Pulling exercises on the rings from my experience are the same difficulty, if not easier in some aspects. You are hanging and the stability issues you have to face are non-existent. Also another factor is that you can move your arms freely, which provides a more comfortable grip. The more comfortable grip and the ability to rotate them, is what helps you focus on back and biceps. Pushing element on the other hand are waaaay more difficult. If you think dips, push-ups are challenging, you must try learning something like a tuck planche on them. Its much harder due to the stability issues i talked about previously. Its a nice video tho and im happy for you results. Keep up the good work!
