Great video. Those 5.7 Hemi engines are very fuel efficient. I recently did a road trip in a 2022 Dodge Charger R/T. At 80 mph I was getting 28 mpg. Pretty phenomenal gas mileage.

I have a 2015 Dodge Challenger r/t 5.7l with BBK long tube headers and deleted mufflers 3in pipe and a k&n cold air intake running 315 in the rear and 275 in the front took it on a 170 mile trip and got between 30 mpg to 32 mpg I average about 400 to the tank.

Yeah, roadtrip to Atlanta netted me 24 mpg on my 2018 R/T lightly modded. I have a tuner and only use 93 octane ethanol free.

Quick tip: if you’re concerned with getting the same kind of gas every time you fill up, find a branded station (Shell, Mobil, etc.) and use that. Stations like Circle K buy off different suppliers based on price, meaning that one tank of fuel might be product from one company and the next might be from another. That being said, it’s all essentially the same stuff, absent brand additives being put in when it’s loaded.

2016 5.7 R/T, when it was 3 days old I drove from Livonia Michigan to Baltimore MD and made it from the Costco in Livonia to the Maryland state line on 1 tank of gas. That's 424 miles and it took 17.2 gallons to fill it up when I stopped. That equates to 24.7 mpg and that included running up a mountain and speeds in excess of 90 at times. The car had under 90 miles on it when I started the trip. I've been very impressed with the fuel economy of my Charger and now that it's modded and makes more power it also gets beter fuel economy!

Darnell Nelson I wouldn't go by mpg , I normally go by days , So if I fill up on a Monday day and it can last me till Friday Saturday especially for a V8 I think thats pretty solid . If you have 50% lead foot // 50 % grandpa driving

Why does my gas mileage always change the most I got was 349 miles range. I got new tires and still hasn't changed. Always check tire pressure mile range is now 280 at most and I've put 89 gas

I have a 2016 RT and I use 89 octane, o routinely pull 27+ on the highway. It'll drop down to 25 if I'm pushing 80 but where I'm from the speed limit is 55 so if I'm doing 65 I'm getting over 30.

2018 srt 392 charger(not scat, srt) 23.5 on the highway to Florida, with default mode on...not even sport or track, just default and tried the eco mode couldn't get 24. Pure gas or ethenol blend? I know I have to go out of my way to find non ethenol gas. I get better mpg on non ethenol gas but it does cost more, like regular 87 usually is premium prices. Certainly better for small engines that you don't use too often that sit.

Man. I was able to get to 27.4 MPG going 80-85 MPH in a 2012 5.7 Charger without resetting my average. 196 miles round trip. Wind at my back on the way there. Going into the wind on the way home. 2012 RT Plus with 143k miles when I did it. Bought the car with 19k miles. All maintenance done. Only Mobil 1 full syn. Lifters and cam replaced at 133k or so. Put in NGK ruthenium spark plugs and replaced one ignition coil at 141k-142k.

I personally drive a 2019 SCATPACK charger and I get 16.7 mpg and like 14 if I step on it here and there so there decent on gas if I reset it and go on the highways I avg like 20-24 mpg depends on traffic so there we’ll worth it for the gas unless you have a lead foot lol

@@TheWhiteMerc_ yes. The control arm is starting to knock. And there is a tick when cold starting that goes away after 5 minutes, which maybe an exhaust manifold leak that seals when the engine warms up. But after that, it’s running great at 70k miles

@@mikexcanxjerk yes it will kick on for down hill also, but as long as its steady and has the mode ability it should kick on after about 10 seconds or so of the same speed and rpm, I usually see it kick on for anything over 30-35 and have seen it kick on up to like 75 if conditions are right

Viper43 well that's really good then actually but I live in LA traffic from 3-7 sucks , so you can't really make use of that MDS but no traffic its definitely a smooth thing to have , kinda debating between a hemi 300 S or 300 S v6 , rented the v6 and it felt smooth and power was great , but feel like it will get better gas mileage on heavy traffic vs the V8 tough choice .

The mile range changes according to your MPG number.. the reason why it says 340 is because he was getting very high MPG of like 24. I've never seen over 280 personally in my '17 R/T
