Women who regret having an abortion, whether of their own accord or because they were shamed badly, are often some of the biggest opponents of abortion rights. They seem to think that everyone will be regretful like them and needs to be saved from that or maybe that they can redeem/absolve themselves from their guilt by preventing others from making the choice to abort. The adoption argument doesn't work, especially in the context of Nigerian society. Many Nigerian families, no matter how badly they want a child, will NEVER adopt. We see children that are adopted as illegitimate, lesser than biological children. I know this to be true because my mother has a lot of friends that struggled to conceive, and for them prayer was the first option, adoption was the very last (only one of them actually adopted a baby). Not only that, but the process of adoption in Nigeria is overly complicated and those who do adopt are most likely to adopt a baby, so if the child doesn't get adopted within the first 2 years of life, they will probably never be adopted.

Either way dey know that they have two options kill or be killed. Now for Abortion the baby (zygote) which ever you want to call it. Does not have an option to say if he or she should die or not. Now this where you Argument is defeated of comparing people that die in war knowing fully well that dey will die or live to killing a Zygote whose decision to either live or die has being decided by the mother. One has the power make a decision While The other person (zygote) the decision has already being for him. People that die war is not the same has killing Zygote.

rape does not justify abortion, killing an innocent person for the sake of a victim is a crime and a serious sin, one should never sacrifice an innocent person with the justification of saving another even more so without consent, after all, no one can return their life. the right thing to do is to at least bring it to the world. and let the child grow and choose their path, no matter how much they suffer or not, it is up to them to decide whether they prefer to live suffering or not, after most people who suffer in this world they prefer to continue living in it, otherwise only the happy on earth. If it cannot be adopted in your country it can be adopted in another, if you launch a public appeal someone will always appear from an NGO that takes care of minors willing to take in such a child. It is a selfish hypocrisy that exists in abortion. nothing justifies this practice. saying that the child has no consciousness is a lie after the fetus reacts During the abortion process, and even more so if it did not react, imagine killing a woman who is drugged until she loses consciousness, would it be because she did not feel the pain during death? Would this no longer be a crime in our society? I wouldn't let it Because even raping a baby who sometimes won't even remember the rape is considered a crime, just like abusing someone who is unconscious, even if they die during the abuse and never find out, after they die, that would be bad. same crime if any witness reported it. nafa justifies induced abortion.

If presidents and military generals who sanction wars and civil suits aren't jailed, if universal health care isn't given and people die, in fact in ghana our light issues are so bad that 3 children have died in incubators and all these people haven't been put in jail , then abortion is the right of every woman. Abortion is healthcare. It is not by force to have life. Being a mother shouldn't be forced, rather it should be a role women should be proud of. Forcing a woman to be a mother brings problems.
@Princess_Orla5 ай бұрын
I believe abortion should be allowed in the case of rape, incest and where it threatens the mother’s life. But, when you engage in an activity knowing fully well the consequences, then you can’t just run away from this. Use protection or go for family planning. There should be education on these alternatives so that people don’t have to opt for abortion. Lastly, abstain from sex else, face what comes with it.
@jemimahkwakuyi78795 ай бұрын
@Princess_Orla sex Ed professionals even know that telling people to abstain is not going to work. And you're here mentioning birth control and whatnot. Africa is a place where their definition of sex Ed is to scare women into not having sex. This abstaining thing is not sex education, not everyone can abstain but everyone can have sex education! Now these people are deprived from the necessary sex education they need because Africans put God God God into everything. And you forget that getting birthcontrol is uncomfortable for people. Because some health professionals still judge women who come for birth control. Women aren't properly protected, women aren't popularly educated, and you wonder why there are so many teenage and underage pregnancies! Doctors literally only recommend birth control to married women with medical conditions! Abortion is will reduce when everyone is properly educated and not given that abstainance lie. Even birth control fails! People have gotten pregnant with IUDs and condoms on and everything. A woman's body, whether society likes it or not, is not for society, its hers. The baby depends on her organs and everything to survive. She can take away its right to do so, because she also has autonomy. And say what happens to her body and who gets her nutrients. So if you want there to be less abortions, start educating women, and stop telling women what to do with their bodies.

Thank you!! Abortion is a lesser evil. But If the government want to avoid abortion though they need to start from the root, the education system. Too many Schools in Nigeria dont teach about consent which is one of the reasons why women are being raped and considering abortion, Religious schools only teach about abstinence to prevent unwanted pregnancy instead of teaching about condoms and birth control, they also need to make contraceptives and condoms cheaper and more accessible for people to avoid having to go through an abortion. Too many children are hawking on the street in Nigeria or working as house help as such a young age because their parents couldn’t afford to have them and abortions arent legal🙄.

In some developed countries, when you go to the gynaecologist to check if you’re pregnant, one of the first questions you’ll be asked is if you want to keep the baby and if not an option for abortion is immediately asked

Abortion is needed in certain situations whether it’s rape, incest, medical conditions or if the mother of the child is a child herself. The way the pro life side is talking is extremely incriminating towards the women who aren’t mentally or physically to have a child is saddening. And as a woman myself it’s even more disappointing.
@akinibitoye79085 ай бұрын
Less than 1% of abortion come from rape. If you don't believe me go and check it out online. Tell me how it's justifiable to end life while the child is in the womb but someone suddenly wrong when it's outside the womb. Rape is a terrible thing but do we need to punish that child's life because of what the father did. Since pro choicers life to say use the rape argument do we need to only give abortion for rape victims because the pro choice people I know would say no and would argue for abortion in all cases.
@akinibitoye79085 ай бұрын
Also regarding medical condition you can go and verify by many doctors as abortion is never used to save the woman's life when she is pregnant as abortion takes time before that child is killed and when the pregnant woman is in danger its stupid to do abortion because that woman would die before abortion even kills the child. What often happens is that the pregnant woman has a c section which is quick and easy to do. People need to do their own research before saying that abortion is used when the woman is at risk of losing her life when pregnant.

rape does not justify abortion, killing an innocent person for the sake of a victim is a crime and a serious sin, one should never sacrifice an innocent person with the justification of saving another even more so without consent, after all, no one can return their life. the right thing to do is to at least bring it to the world. and let the child grow and choose their path, no matter how much they suffer or not, it is up to them to decide whether they prefer to live suffering or not, after most people who suffer in this world they prefer to continue living in it, otherwise only the happy on earth. God does not have mercy on everyone, he has compassion on his saints and whoever he wants.

In islam, the fetus does not become a human soul until about 4 months. Abortion is permissible under certain circumstances. However it should not be used haphazardly or as a contraception tool. God forgives all sins once the one who commits the sin repents. There are remnants of sin, however, and those need to be addressed through therapy, and fostering a closer connection with God. I really enjoyed this episode.

"I believe a child from rape is the same as a child from a sperm bank" is such a ridiculous thing to say and that is not the only ridiculous thing the anti abortion group said. Life is an act of creation. If you innately know that lying down with a woman or man can lead to creating a life. You have made a conscious choice to accept the consequences of creating a life. That life did not create itself, your actions lead to the creation of that life. Why should you now deny that life’s opportunity for existence simply because situations no longer favour you? If medically that life is not challenging your existence. Rape is an abomination, but yet again an action that could lead to the creation of a life. An unjust action that yet that life did not have a part to play in. Why now should that life be denied its existence? Morals and the ability to consciously sacrifice are what distinguish man from animals. Ignoring the principles of morality is an ignorant choice. Because in one way or another, the principles of morality and sacrifice were at play in your history to justify your existence. Society has instruments such as adoption in place to even help with unjust or ignorant decisions. Both the man and the woman are created by design. If you don't want a car to move, you simply apply the brakes and turn the engine off. Those are specific measures that you have applied to make sure that the car does not move. Because the car is created by design. Desire + Choice + action = Random Consequences Desire + Choice (Measures/Discipline) + Action = Favourable Consequences

A lady with a second pregnancy ultrasound was showing that her baby was having a dandy walker syndrome and she is adviced to have an abortion at 5 months.she disagreed and we never see her since then.5 months later she walked in with a special child hydrocephalus,unable to coordinate nor sit ,nor eat.you wil pity the baby condition at 9 months. Now the mother was secretely begging if there is any substance she can give th3 child to ease her of th3 stress.few weeks later the baby died.is it not better not to have kept the baby? I have many points that will convince you.i wish am on this program.what if its an ectopic gestation

If someone has an abortion, there are beliefs that the person will suffer unusual consequences, such as barking like a dog. Ultimately, I believe the decision to have an abortion should be a personal one. Thank you, I really enjoyed the show.
