About Li-ion batteries: I've used VTC6, you can charge them to 4.2v, and push down to about 2.6v under load (however it's better to discharge them to about 3.0-2.9 under load)
@Sky-wakka4 жыл бұрын
i believe LiIon can actually go way lower than that. i thought it was like 2-2.5v
@zdm52904 жыл бұрын
It's safe to take it that low, but it becomes more difficult to fly around 3.0. I have a 7 inch I fly on a 6s pack I built and the throttle response starts to feel less than great around 3.4, and I try to be on the ground at about 3.0, which gets me about 25 minutes or so fully kitted out cruising

I've really been considering the Flywoo so it's helpful to see how it does. I understand the marketing value of the 'gale' title, but I prefer to know accurate estimates of wind speed whenever I fly. This is probably a Moderate Breeze (4) 13-18 mph or at most a Fresh Breeze 19-24 mph. I would be hesitant to fly much above 20-25, especially above water, and you are braver than I. A true Gale force (8) wind is defined as 39-46 mph (impeding walking).Thanks again!

I used the 2S pack on my "big" 3" freestyle build that usually runs on 4S 650. I was able to squeeze on some gentle HQ 4x2x2 props, and I came in at just barely under 250g with a Caddx Turtle and GPS. My first test flight was 6 miles in 19 minutes. Then 6 miles in 12 minutes. Then 6 miles in 10 minutes. It seems to always be 6 miles no matter how fast I go. I never had any good plans on what to do with this setup, but it was cool that it could manage such long flights.

I do not do KZbin videos (yet) and I only have three camera drones, but I can tell you from experience that “Return to Home” although this one doesn’t come home and land per say can get you in trouble if engaged and “home” is under trees like where you took off from in this video .I think I would have calibrated the compass out from under trees in a more open area. That said I really like this drone, and your video was awesome. Long range intrigues me because on the one hand you can see where the drone is on the map, where it is going in the goggles, and in your flight here probably the drone itself with binoculars LOS, but technically not LOS to the naked eye for something that small. Finally I noticed in your goggle video that the outside 1/4 of the screen on each side when you were low over the water was quite blurry, is that normal for the DJI digital video? Keep up the great work man.
@MarkusRessel Жыл бұрын
Try to setup your remote so you can easily switch RTH off and take back control when you are in close enough proximity, so trees and stuff won't be an issue. This will not work if you lose connection inside a bando though, so keep that in mind.

The low quality on the sides is "focus mode", which limits video quality on the sides first and tries to keep center quality high for as long as possible. You can turn it off in the goggles.

@bkfpv4 жыл бұрын
I will give you the advice I wish I had gotten when starting. Go with crossfire. ALWAYS go with crossfire. I have both the R9 system with Frsky and several r-xsr recievers and so on. Just made the switch to crossfire and now I have gear I can trust and just go out flying and have fun with no issues. Also if the money is there, go Dji for the goggles. This advice will save you time, money and take away loads of frustration. You will end up there eventually anyways, so just go for it. Check out the Tango 2 from TBS. Small, light, great gimballs, good form factor and awesome range (250mw). Now with the option of a module bay if needed (1w module if you want to go extreme long range). And as Gautam says, get a simulator and go straight from sim to acro mode when you start flying outside.

@@TriniWeekes @BK Imo you don’t need crossfire straight away in your first build as you iron out other issues but definitely get a solid radio that will run modules and crossfire is absolutely one of the first upgrades to make. It’s essentially like taking away one of the many concerns/reliability issues that you may encounter. Don’t bother with r9 (coming from an r9 owner) especially with crossfire at it’s current price for the starter bundle. Also yea if you’re willing to put the money in get digital. No one with sanity can recommend high end analog anymore. If you’re on a budget cheap box goggles can also be great.

@@NURKFPV ah fair play! Well range wise it looks good from your testing. I've not used an insta360 go, so not sure what options you've got in terms of stabilisation. I know the larger version is pretty good and i imagine the options on the 'go' would be pretty similar seeing as it's a 360 cam? I guess the only concern other than that would be, as you say, the drone getting pushed around a bit more in the wind due to the lower weight making the proximity stuff more challenging. I'm sure with your skills you'd be alright, me, maybe not so much! 😂 I'm tempted to get one though to give it a try!

Great video! I was surprised why I didn’t jump on this. I live in Switzerland, long range mountain 🏔 heaven, but what about when you reach that peak? Won’t it be blown around? Thanks for showing it can handle a lot. Dave_c designed it for similar mountain flying in Germany I guess. I am kinda leaning more to getting a heavy freestyle like quad, I can rip in the wind or up a mountain, as I can get pretty close without a boring 10 min. ascending flight 🤷🏻♂️. Or both? 🤔
@FPFPV4 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking both. I just built a 5" freestyle (mid-range?) quad, and I also couldn't resist ordering this. Now I'm thinking about maybe building a heavier 7" long range quad in the future and then I think I'm all set. I also live in the Alps, in Austria, and we really live in long range paradise. I couldn't think of a better place to fly.

ha - I'm looking to make sure that I have clear line of sight and not going behind any trees or anything - it's not that I'm actually looking at the drone.

@@NURKFPV i feel you bro. i havent took my quads long range yet, although i am running CF. I lost 4 drones losing orientation with no gps. i keep mine close lol. good flying bro

Would have been a good time to throw in a few clips from that IndyGP race 2 years ago where the wind nearly blew the boom lift gate over. That was some crazy wind.
