Also, Musk made a crack about buying Hasbro. He claims he's upset (probably wants "nerd cred") that DnD is "to woke" due to misunderstanding and a single paragraph out of context. For context, Hasbro/Wizards has released a book containing the original notes for original DnD, with a single paragraph (in the middle of 2 paragraphs praising Gygax) that tells people there's some bad stuff in here. They specifically point out that they aren't censoring anything (in their own words "warts and all"); but people are hyper-focusing on that single paragraph to "prove" Hasbro/WotC hate him and want to destroy/remove him. There's been some back and forth (some not very civil) and Musk jumped at the chance to earn "nerd cred" by (aggressively) "defending" Gygax, and musing about how much Hasbro's worth. He seems to believe he's the savior of nerd culture (or at least wants to be seen as such).

The irony is that if Elon Musk actually wanted to do the games industry any favours by taking power out of the hands of apathetic corporate entities, all he would have to do is donate some of his enormous wealth towards video game preservation causes. GOG has added WarCraft 1 and 2 to their preservation program in the wake of Blizzard's plan to remove the games from store shelves everywhere. (It seems like Blizzard didn't learn much of anything from WarCraft 3 Refunded, because they're once again attempting to make the older versions of their games inaccessible as they push remakes into our faces. _Source: Sid Alpha_ ) Elon could donate $10 million to that cause and immediately attract better publicity without saying a damn word. And it's not the only cause out there trying to preserve video games either, there's one in the EU called the "Stop Killing Games" initiative that (iirc) started when Ubisoft pulled a bunch of games off of Steam and invalidating customers' purchases there. These sorts of movements would actually benefit greatly from financial support, and Elon wouldn't even feel it. But he won't. He doesn't know how to be kind. All he knows is how to tarnish a good thing.

Same here. Pulled up the list myself because some of it is just funny. The game "Overcooked" is listed as "Informative" on their list (what that means exactly IDK). But it says "Contains subtly pro-DEI messaging. *One of the playable characters is a wheelchair-bound racoon* ." LMAO. So they don't like physically disabled fictional animal characters or something? Is that considered "woke" now lol. And yeah the Flight sim one I found interesting. Specifically the "uses unlabeled presets during character customization. Despite white males being ~90% of pilots". What exactly do they mean by that? That 90% of pilots IRL are white males? If so I'd be shocked if that stat wasn't just pulled from someone's ass. And are they arguing that black people shouldn't be allowed in Microsoft Flight Simulator?

That list has some genuine laughs in it. Like a game (Overcooked) being woke for having a "racoon character that is disabled" lol. But the real feelings of people that actually abide by that list is so obvious. One game is labeled woke because "the intro notably features a mixed race family". @@henryfleischer404 I'm guessing that's specifically solar shingles, not any instance of rooftop solar. I don't remember off-hand if Musk was the only one working on those, but a few years back there were shingle designs that incorporated solar panels directly into the shingles, making them much cheaper and less prone to issues than rooftop solar panels and looking pretty promising for getting solar into more homes. I haven't heard anything about them in 5+ years, though, so I guess the idea kind of floundered in practice.
