The thing is, these are just names given to different possible foot shapes as convenient labelling, it doesn't actually have anything to do with your heritage. Egyptian is so named because its the only way feet were ever depicted in ancient Egyptian art and Greek is so named because ancient Greeks depicted noteworthy figures with that foot shape in statues, because they considered it a sign of wisdom.

I just love your Channel ❣❣In 1969, My Daddy moved us, to his hometown ,Carencro ,LA., as he was ready to retire after 21 yrs. in the U.S. Army. I was 12 years old , and had grown up in Europe, where your last name was pronounced as it was spelled. So, I always thought my maiden name, "Begnaud" ,was said as, Beg-Nod .It wasn't until 6th grade that ,a classmate laughed at me. She said ,I didn't even know how, to say my name! I remember crying 😢 and very upset that my Mom never told me in that in LA. it's pronounced , Beg-No ! LOL I'm now, 66 and looking into my family Genealogy . I haven't done the DNA testing but from a Free site, I know, that I am of French, Acadian French, Canadian Indian, Creole , American Indian, English , Irish, Welsh , and Spanish descent. And most recently heard from a cousin who says we also, are of Jewish descent ?! BTW...Roman and Aboriginal , are the way my toes are angled. TY for sharing, your wonderful journey into the world of the past, your lineages and heritage. Very Enlightening. Joy and peace ✌🙏😁

Your name is how you pronounce it. English speakers would often say Beg-Nod. I think the actual french or french canadian pronunciation might be in-between depending on accent. I know two ways to pronounce Dougherty. One is like Dockerty and is much closer to the way the Irish say it.

Interesting post. I would think g is silent and aud is like o. So I would say Bain-o. Many acadien people could have Native American ancestry. We relied on close relationships through most of the early settlement years and lived side by side. Often acadien communities were next to mi’kmaq tradional fishing areas. Acadiens were known for turning wetlands into farmland by building dykes. I often wonder if this was one of the reasons they stayed in the wetland areas when they immigrated to Louisiana.

On a possibly related issue, a couple of years ago my brother and I engaged ourselves in a long evening of sharing memories about old friends of ours whose family heritages were/are indigenous. While we were in different age groups, and so had different circles of childhood and teenage friends to play with, we both came to the observation that our separate indigenous playmates were all "twinkle toes" when it came to styles of running. It intrigues us to the point that we actually started digging up research, and came to discover that Nike actually was compelled to construct a specific shoe, largely sold to indigenous runners, that accommodated heel-forward running...

Many years ago I moved from Los Angeles to San Jose (Silicon Valley) at 30 yrs old and went to a new dentist. After xrays and cleaning the dentist walked in holding my xrays and introduces himself. He tells me some things and then asks if my previous dentists have ever told me I need braces. I said no. No one in my family needed braces my teeth arent perfecr but very close. He said , no your teeth are straight but do I bite my cheeks often? I was surprised and answered yes I do. I bite my cheeks while eating a couple times a week and sometimes badly where it bleeds. He said he thought so. He says your lower jaw is wider than your upper jaw and saliva swells your cheeks when you eat to help break down food as you chew. That width differebce causes your teeth to catch your cheeks and pulls them in causing you to bite your cheeks. He said it is hereditary and it can be fixed with braces and your insurance will cover it. I said how long would I wear braces ? He said about a year. But that is after you see an oral surgeon. I asked what will happen then and he said that they will split the pallet or roof of my mouth down the middle from front to back and put spanners to spread my upper jaw wider to match my lower jaw and adjust it every few weeks to widen little by little as it heals and then after that i would wear braces for about a year to keep everything aligned and teeth from moving around. I told him no way thats nuts. He then said think about this, you're 30 yrs old you most lijely have another 50 or 60 years to live. You bite your cheeks a couple times a week and its painful and you bleed and thats a very long time of going through that . Or you spend a year and a half of some pain and discomfort to fix that problem. Thats a huge difference of time and pain. I didnt have the surgery. Who knows what would happen with my mouth being split open under my nasal caveties will it change my vouce and speech will it screw up my breathing through my nose or cause infections and maybe mess with my hearing and my throat since they all tie together? Too many risks. I'll stick with what genetics gave me.

I have Celtic ancestry. Now I need to clarify that. Mine is west Great Britain and highland Scotland. Celtic also means European. Celts wandered all over literally. I have Egyptian feet. Scotia the legendary founding mother of Scots was an Egyptian Princess leading a group of Egyptians and Central Asian pre Celt refugees that settled in N Ireland and moved across to Scotland. My great grandmother told me we came from the Dalmatian coast spoke Greek and our own language migrated to Egypt as mercenaries then to Spain and British isles. She knew the Scottish history passed down to her. She was a McDonald. The Iberian migration and occupation is verified. Egypt not yet, but Egypt depended on mercenary armies after 1000BC. They were in decline. The Balkan origin Grandma talked about would fit with the Illyrian Greeks. They had the Greek culture but did not follow the Olympian gods. They were very advanced but the Greeks only tolerated them due to religious differences. They were a military and trading power.

I'm Métis (mixed Indigenous in Canada), and according to this I have African feet. 😂 I have shovel teeth as well, and we have the RH negative thing (I can't remember it exactly), and my family is buried on a reservation.

I know I'm mainly Anahuaca and Caucasian. Having said that, my roots are Gaelic (Gallego); so, for me, it hit on the spot. About Astrology it may be of interest to you to check Robert Eduard Grant's work as he shall open your points of view to new horizons. Anyhow; thanks for sharing this info, and best of luck.

If I don't bear weight on my foot, it appears Greek, the moment I place it on the ground it appears Celtic. AncestryDNA most recent update is 95% Ireland 🇮🇪. Lines up. I also toewalk, overpronate, have bunions and severe arthritis in one foot. I attribute those to neurodivergence, a lifetime of too many too narrow shoes and having standing jobs on bad floors. Those could all be factors as to foot shape.

My parents and my brothers and I are "African American". My father and his mother can/could "pass" for white. My mother and all her family are "black Americans" with dark brown skin and African features. I keep getting mistaken by little old Latin ladies as either Dominican or Puerto Rican. The youngest brother definitely has a nose that resembles every photo of old Native Americans (rumored on my mother's side of the family going back to early post slavery days). The middle kid takes after my mom and her family. So I don't even want to think about looking at our feet to start that ball rolling! P.S. - I've virtually no arch in my feet, so I feel your pain!

Guuuurl😂 This chart is bunk! Lol but it was interesting and entertaining none the less. Me and my mom have African feet, my dad had a mix of greek and Celtic and my kids have two different shaped feet that arent even on that chart. Also me, my dad, and youngest child have really wide flat feet with short toes. We also have short hands with wide palms and short fingers. My mom and my oldest child have long narrow feet with long toes. They also have smaller palms, longer narrower hands with long slender fingers.

I did look at my feet. According to this "chart" I have Greek ancestry... haha. Nope...gone as far back as the Mayflower on maternal side & Ireland during the potato famine. My feet match my Daddy's, southern Alabama settlements.

According to the chart mine is African my husband's is Greek. I had someone years ago tell me that they thought I was native American specifically Blackfoot. They actually asked if my toes had a gap between my first two toes. And yes mine have a gap almost a sandle gap .
@zigm74202 ай бұрын
I thought I was the only one with that gap. Glad someone else has it too! 😂

@zigm7420 👍 I've seen a few but not many with a sandle gap. Maybe we can start our own tribe 😆

Your footprint identifies you better than your finger. My big toe is a little bigger than my second toe, and they descend from there in equal increments.

According to this, Im clearly Egyptian... but the problem with that society has is that both my parents are considered black, so they consider me black even though I have a lot of Arab/ Hispanic kinda traits.

Yes, I have seen this chart before. Some of the foot/toe shapes…? According to the chart, my feet look the most like the Orient type, which I’m not sure I understand, but maybe it goes back many, many generations. I don’t know.
