What they are saying is that if you apply for NDA, the perm commission officer will come running, it is given to women, then I don't understand why they go to IMA, it is the same training. There is no special provision in both, so what will the government say to the coat, we women can become permanent commission and temporary commission. Although they are trying for permanent commission for female through IMA, but as a female candidate, I thought that,the vaccancy should be increased, only 18 vaccancy is there for female candidate to join OTA as compared to male they have 400+ vaccancy. The vaccancy issue should also be raised with the permanent commission. I hope, to see changes in future.

Height and some minor physical standards are only lowered and women are not taken into combat roles but only in supporting roles like ASC and Signals . A lot of women officers already have shown their capabilities and have earned the Permanent Commission and awards like the Sena Medal. I don't see the weakening part here and I recommended you understand that armed forces themselves came forward accepting female candidates into NDA too because they have proven their worth and competence to hold the commission

Nobody questions us accepting foreign cadets despite our officer ranks being not filled across units and we even send our Afghani G.cadets to the Taliban. OTA has a lot of seats vacant and to fight problems the govt allows candidates who applied for IMA to attend OTA SSB(You will know this if you ever went through the notification for CDS) so females aren't a problem for anyone. You just need one seat and you can get it and as far as MNS is concerned we must open it for Males. Don't be so selfish @pushpitanath5461

people are misinterpreting the concept. the government never said that they are showing sympathy towards women by allowing them in combat forces. The fact is female candidates are allowed on the basis of their capabilities. Just like men get selected, among men. So if a women is capable and successfully clears all the tests and training and meets all criteria, then why should she be stopped from undertaking the combat forces? just because she is a women? is that a logical argument? And if you talk about rapes and torture from enemy at the border, then is a woman safe within the country itself? or on the indian streets and in her own home? Look at the history, women were warriors and rape survivors as well. Its high time that women should stop fearing rapes. I know rapists will not like it. Change is the rule of nature, whether you like it or not, or whether government brings it or not. Change will happen anyways.

This case is just waste of time and national resources.. *Army doesn't run on feminism. A wise man said :- "यहाँ के पॉलिटिक्स में सिस्टम हो न हो, यहाँ के सिस्टम में जरूर पॉलिटिक्स हो !" They are talking about fundamental rights... then they should leave the army because all your fundamental rights including "Right to equality" are left far before the gates of army.

Ther are not talking about right to equality in the indian army... they are talking about right to equality in opportunity to join Indian army....why girls can't join Indian army? I very well know that there is physical difference between us ( boys and girls ) but there are various posts where girls can perform better than boys, there are other roles too other than infantry..girls can join that. Girls too deserve a chance to serve there nation and for that only 17 or 18 seats are not sufficient ....it should be increased and it will be increased in near future.

@@chaturvedianjali you brave lady , I agree to you, that yes ,women's are doing good in defence sector in many fields, and they are getting their opportunities through OTA and even getting service extensions and chances upon merit permanent commission too.. but if you had listened carefully, then you could know that he is speaking about IMA, the Indian Military Academy, which is a training academy for the commanders of the infantry, and infantry directly means combat and it's not a movie combat, it's harsh, which knows no rule (eg. Is current world scenario ). ** And the best you could know is "Captain Saurabh Kalia" the first PC officer to martyr in kargil war. Just go through it you will find. Jai hind.
