Hey Tyler it's Boz, the joggler in your video. Definitely worth the wait! Just want to say I love the video. You are quite a storyteller. It was a real pleasure to slow down for a bit and talk with you about your challenge. I feel like I hit the wall miles later than I would have because I took the time with you. You showed real enthusiasm and support for the other marathoners, and that's great. This is the first time I've seen another joggler in a marathon other than my daughter, who is 16 and joggled the half-marathon. The whole fam loved the video. Thanks for lifting us up. BTW, I finished 46th of 46 among men ages 60-64, and it felt great. I have a new challenge for you if you like: when you're ready: finish last in my age category. :)

Tyler - it would take about half hour for the last person to cross the start line that is why the car will add 7 hours to the time the last person crossed. Usually it’s about 7.5 hours.

@aylaamon32674 ай бұрын
I've always wondered about cut off times - I assume the course closes 7 hours after the last wave/last runner crosses the start line, which means if you crossed the start line close to the front, you probably actually get like 7:20-30 (like the legendary Steve said). I can't imagine holding the back of the pack starters to the 7 hour cut off based on the elite start. Congrats on last :)
@rly19774 ай бұрын
Love these videos! How about doing a marathon where they record splits and placing at each split, and then walking the first half and then running the second half as fast as you possible can, see how many people you can pass!
@rly19774 ай бұрын
Or how about run a race where there is a shortcut between two timing mats, but don't cut. Average like a 10 - 12 minute pace for the whole race except for those two timing mats, and then run as fast as you possibly can between those two timing mats, try to trigger a red flag from one of those algorithms that marathon investigation might use. See if they might DQ you.

Is it? By me finishing last, I save someone else the embarrassment of actually finishing last. I was super encouraging to everyone who passed me. I have incredible respect for anyone who is able to finish a marathon. So I ask again, am I being disrespectful?

the thumbnail lacks some tact 🤷♀️
@gb29834 ай бұрын
Get a grip man. Unless you're right at the front, the only person you're competing with is yourself. Why would anyone at the back care about him not giving everything? As long as he's not impeding someone else,'s progress it's alll game.
@coherentpanda71154 ай бұрын
It's not disrespectful, everyone was there to have a good time and say they finished a marathon. From the short clips Tyler was encouraging and polite to everyone.
@JorgeHeikkilsson4 ай бұрын
@@TylerSpeersI do admit that you were nice and encouraging to the other runners and they didn't seem to mind what you were doing. Personally, I would be annoyed if I was at the back and someone was intentionally trying to finish behind me in a race. But I might very well be in the minority in this and in the end everyone runs their own race. But I do agree with the other comments in that the thumbnail is in poor taste.
