Needed to eat more early on when you were feeling good and didn't think you needed to. The trick to ultra distance stuff is eating early, often and keeping your electrolyte and water balance in check either through a sports drink or salt pills. Chafing becomes a real issue too. Body glide, toe shaped socks (injinji) and of course shoes that are a good fit for your foot. Stuff I had to slowly learn over 10 years. Being on your feet, no matter how slowly you are moving for 24 hours is no joke though.

I tried this a few years ago. I got to 81000 steps. I didn't start at midnight like you. I meant to start at 8am but there was a huge storm so I only started at 11am. I figured I'd do it in a 24hr period. When at midnight my step count went back to zero from 81k... I was too discouraged to keep going. Legs up the wall bro. Like! As long as you can.

you did amazing, good job!! eating enough is KEY!! starting at midnight was the right move, i also recommend take a nap mid-day, soaking your feet in ice water, switching out your shoes and socks, and blister covers. and again, you need to eat more! sugar! you can totally do this. walking on grass is also easier than pavement or a treadmill, so try to switch it up :)

I tried something similar to this when I was a young man. I did no training at all, and I tried to walk from Springfield MO, to Monett MO. I started at 5pm (right after work) and ended up getting there around sun up. My IT band was totally shot, and I could not walk for a few days after. I should have done some training first.

I thought of doing this challenge but wanted to increase slowly, did twice 30,000 steps and then moved to 50,000 steps which I managed to do in 11 hrs. last 5000 steps was the hardest one so I definitely feel your pain after 50,000 steps. Great try though, my next target is 70,000 steps. lets see when I make it 🙃

Did that a few months ago))) we were 3 friends and I'm the only one who finished. We left the house at 4 am and I came back home at 11 pm... it was hard my feet were blistered like never before. My died wasn't very good that day either tho I ate the best I could. It was hard and I definitely don't recommend doing that. I felt like I was about to vomit after 90,000 steps. I wanted to cry. One of my friends gave up half the way and the other friend left at 90k because she injured herself. THIS IS VERY BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH AND CAN CAUSE SO MANY PROBLEMS SUCH AS BROKEN TISSUE THAT IS FROM PPROTEIN M

I did this in march, and completet it. We were a group of 3 starting at 3 am, and we did this in Norway so it was about -4 C when we startet. None of us dressed properly so we were all freezing at the start. We lost our first solider at 30k steps, thats also when we taped our feet, and then we lost another solider at 84k steps. I finished at 9:30 at night alone which means it took about 18,5 hours to complete the challange. From what i've learned i would recommend to eat a good breakfast, and pack snacks and meals for the upcomming hours. I had a candybar/granola bar/proteinbar every 2 hours and ate every 3-4 hours. I never ran out of fuel to push my body, which i think helped a lot. Keep in mind that you shouldnt pack heavy, and if you need to refuel have a "aid station" planned ahead. Pack some water but not alot, you dont want to have that exstra weight on you and having to pee that often. For the shoes i would chose something very light and something that didnt shafe anywhere on your feet. Shafing is the main reason we lost the first guy (he began bleeding early on because of inpropper shoe wear and lack of taping) I wore some very light 3 year old shoes for the most of the walk and felt fine. I also taped my big toe, the bottom of my feet, and my heels. I did not get any shafing or blisters because of that. Dress apropriatly for the weather! We didnt and it was really hard to walk around freezing. If you have the option, walk with someone. I had the hardest time walking alone the last 3 hours, and I really felt it at 90k. What helped was calling someone and getting some moral support ;). Also chose a route that is very long and doesnt make you walk in circles. It could be walking from one city to another. Or walking from town to town. I found it was easier to walk amnd ingnore the steps i had to walk ahead when I had somewhere to reach instead of just wandering around looking at my steps all the time. Don't look at your steps that often! It's not motivating at all. Look at them after you have reached a geofrafical checkpoint or every time you eat.

i feel like running 110 km in a day to get the 100k steps is more doable. Today i ran 14 miles which gave me 23k steps and felt pretty ok after. Tbf i was wearing asiscs gel-nimbus 25 which are op for long slow runs.

Probably wise to walk them rather than run them as walking 2 miles burns the same amount of energy as running 1 mile. Normally running is better but if you're going for 100,000 steps (50 miles), then walking's better.

Why do people say the 3rd lap of a 1600m or mile race is the hardest? IMO the 4th lap is the hardest by a long shot, clear no-brainer because thats when you're emptying the tank and kicking so hard your legs go numb and everything hurts.
