We've done some hard Pokemon challenges in the past, but usually they were a solo Pokemon challenge run. What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only one type? Today we find out: can I beat a Pokemon Platinum Hardcore Nuzlocke with only Steel types? No items and no overleveling!

Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of importing Pokémon, Items, etc.

​@@syan2240eh Rocks are actually decent at chipping and damaging rocks Though not necessarily a great option, especially As metals such as bronze and iron would prove much more effective at the process So while the type itself isn't effective It has no reason to really be considered not effective

In my opinion, I think using Solrock the whole run would have been fine. You technically caught it in Platinum, but it's your Nuzlocke so you play it as you like.

Very good run, a few pointers if you did not know ... 1. Brick Break is available after the first gym at Oreburgh Gate 2. Medicham learns the elemental punch via move relearner (1 Heart Scale per punch) 3. Amnulet Coin (More $$$) is available at amity square after the 2nd gym - less grind at the game corner

In a run like this, I think you should be able to use one of the lake trio. Their base stats aren’t anything too crazy. If pseudo legends are allowed, I think sub 600 legends should be too

You should do a Hardcore Nuzlocke in Pokemon Sword with only Dark Types (The dark type has great pokemon, but they are really hard to use in gen 8 because of trainers like Kabu and Opal, and just to make it harder it's in Sword because Tyrantitar and Mandibuzz are only in Shield and the fourth gym leader is Bea instead of Allister)
