What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only one type? Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.
(8) No connecting with other games for the purposes of importing Pokémon, Items, etc.

Crazy idea for a nuzlocke or even a normal run. I call it the "Falconry" run. In short you can only use Bird, Dog, and Horse Pokemon (Preferably bird of prey Pokemon are preferred). You can keep up to three in your party and 1 of which must be a Bird. You only lose the nuzlocke if you lose all your bird Pokemon so if you have at least 1 bird in a box you can continue. I created this run because of my love of Falconry and Birds of prey.

Playing devil's advocate here, but one of the major problems with the Elite Four rematch is that there's a huge level gap from Karen's ace (level 64) to Lance's ace (level 75). But yeah, it'd be nice to have something bridge the gap between Gym Leader Blue and Red.

It looks good on paper but, as we saw against Lapras, it had a terrible habit of missing every important KO you wanted it to take. This was before team preview, so every new kid on the block was certain they'd get the Gyarados-bait into a Motor Drive then super effective sweep, but the maths never added up and its low defence and mid HP meant it was pretty easy to tank a hit and smack it down. Would have been better in lower tiers but since so many kept trying it, it remained OU.

Love the content silph. You really should allow yourself to skip things that are time gated, like the game corner specifically. There’s nothing that can go wrong in the game corner. Now, grinding levels I can understand, since a random encounter could possibly cause the loss of a Pokémon.
