What if we still did a really difficult challenge... but with a full team using hardcore nuzlocke rules, and with only one type? Today we find out: can I beat a Pokemon White 2 Hardcore Nuzlocke with only Ground types? No items and no overleveling!

Monotype Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
(1) If a Pokémon faints, it must be permanently boxed or released.
(2) Only the first type-specific Pokémon encountered in each Route/Area can be caught.
(3) No Legendaries/Mythicals, duplicates, or same-evolution-line Pokémon can be caught or used. If a duplicate is encountered, the next unique type-specific Pokémon encounter can be caught.
(4) Additional Pokémon may be caught for the purpose of HM use, but these may not be used in battle at any time during the run.
(5) No Items can be used in battle (Held Items are allowed).
(6) Party Pokémon levels are limited to the highest level Pokémon of the next Gym Leader or Elite 4 Member. So long as your Pokémon are at or below the level cap when the Gym Leader/Elite 4 Member battle starts, they can level up mid-battle.
(7) "Set" Battle Mode must be used at all times.

A tip on Gligar for BW2 runs is, you can skip it. In the shaking grass on the same route you can get a Gliscor without needing to evolve it.

If you allow hidden grotto encounters in your nuzlockes, before the League (although I can't remember specifically which route), you can find a v rare Gligar with Immunity, which evolves into a Gliscor with Poison Heal

Love the video! Ground types were always my favourites. I'd suggest considering banning boosting moves, however. You're an expert player and know the games and mechanics extremely well - with wide varieties of Pokemon available in challanges as these you might be able to beat the game anyway ;) keep up the great content

I've been working on my own hardcore nuzlocke of B2W2 challenge mode, but I'm not very good at nuzlocking and have only ever completed Emereald and Leaf Green successfully. I've wiped to Ghetsis twice and the tilt on the second wipe caused me to want to take a break. So it's insane to me that you're able to consistently defeat Ghetsis monotype. Sometimes because you're so good at the content side of things, it's easy to forget how actually good at the game you are.

Gen 4 was the real justice to the ground type. Gastrodon, gliscor, mamoswine, and garchomp alone are staples in their own rights if I have the opportunity to get any of those Pokémon it’s hard to pass one of them up.
