The odds of missing a 100% accuracy move after 1 accuracy drop is 25% so there is a 6.25% chance of it missing 2/2. Add on the 5% chance of fly missing and you have a 0.3125% chance. The odds that the next fly hit is 95% times the odds that it crit which is 6.25% you get 5.937% and if you add that on to the previously discussed odds of 0.3125% you get a 0.018553125% chance of all that happening. Would be pretty boring, aside from cut, flash, and you could also count rock smash, most HM moves are fairly powerful. Strength is at 80, fly I believe is 90 as well as surf, I think waterfall is 80 as well as dive if it's available in the generation he would choose to do the game in

I was curious about the present glitch and how bad it is, so I made a spreadsheet to calculate damage against any given type, and compare it to how much it should do if calculated normally. Just a quick note based on your assessment of the Pidgey fight at the start, present does more damage to the types at the bottom of the type list, since they fill in the value for your level in the damage formula. Your own level and attack are ignored, as is your targets defense, turning present into an almost sonicboom like move during the early game, doing the most damage to dark types and the least damage to Normal (excluding rock and steel, each of these types actually double resist present due to the glitch, don't even try it). Here are the results for the key fights in your run, using rough estimates for stats of Delibird and opposing pokemon when comparing it to the glitched damage. Present vs. Lvl 7 Pidgey - Glitch increases damage by ~60% Present vs. Lvl 9 Pidgeotto - Glitch increases damage by ~85% Present vs. Lvl 4 Geodude - Glitch does not change damage dealt significantly. Delibird is just bad, Geodude resists it and has decent defense despite level gap. Present vs. Lvl 16 Scyther - Glitch increases damage by ~20% Present vs. Lvl 16 Quilava - Glitch increases damage by ~200% (no wonder it one shot. In the next fight against Lvl 32 Quilava the glitch wouldn't have helped at all any more) Present vs. Lvl 14 Zubat - Glitch decreases damage by ~40% (explains why it was harder than Quilava) Present vs. Lvl 30 Magnemite - Glitch decreases damage by ~50% (Headbutt would have done more than a 120bp present) I also ran calculations on some Pokemon you fought later on after removing present, such as Kingdra which would have taken more than double damage due to having dragon as its secondary type. Even then, since it can be so inconsistent it's probably easier to use fly. Present vs. Lvl 41 Slowbro - Glitch increases damage by ~120% Fly is probably optimal here instead, but if the Slowbro had a particularly low HP stat a lucky 120bp present would actually one shot. Present vs. Lvl 42 Umbreon - Glitch increases damage by ~140% Same as with Slowbro, except it's more likely Present could one shot.

Im working on a run where i beat every gym leader and elite 4 member in Pokemon Silver using a lvl 2 Chansey that knows Present (she can learn it through breeding). Chanseys Present does 3 times as much damage as Delibirds, since you plug 1 rather than 2 for the defense and Chansey gets STAB. ( btw Chanseys lvl is reset after every battle). So far i manages to beat Faulkner, Bugsy, Morty (had to us a wierd straegy with Rollout), Pryce, and Claire. Whitney, Chuck, and so far the Elite 4 seem almost undoable so I'll need to figure out the minimum amout possible i can change he rules to beat them.

To those that debunk the idea with Regigigas' high stats: I believe that's the point. Slow Start halves max speed and attack of Regigigas, so considering the base stats, it'll have 80 base attack and 50 base speed for the first 5 turns. You also have to take note of Normal not being too great a type, potential bad IVs, etc. The run will still be challenging, the first 5 turns make all the difference.

Shadow Of Seattle gen 5 exp system is better then gen most gens anyway on average for the average player. It’s ideal to be slightly under leveled for important boss fights so they are still threatening but can be beaten if you use proper strategy and type matchups. It’s also ideal to have a full team with mons to cover different situations. The gen 5 level system only sucks for challenge runs. You are pretty much at the ideal level for each fight provided you fight a few trainers in the area when you catch a new mon ( the level system makes getting new Pokémon up to the strength of your other party members super easy so it encourages you to experiment and try new mons) however since you can’t overlevel without a lot of grinding only one pokemon challenge runs take way longer. The real issue is the late evolution levels on a whole bunch of mons. But there’s still plenty of unova mons that fully evolve early enough to make a fully evolved good team for the elite four. Archeops ( best flier to use in the game debatably and definitely most destructive ( also has excellent coverage throughout the game and the few cases you can’t hit super effective just one shot them with acrobatics) sawk ( absolute easiest way to take out ghesitis hydreigon) the elemental monkeys ( honestly the grass one is better in game then serperior due to grass snake’s absolutely garbage movepool ( honestly any grass type in unova that’s fully evolved is better then serpeior in game )darmantian or chandelure exactdrill ( aka speed runners best friend or sweep ghesitis with swords dance and x speeds) ect.

Nah Will is just the most forgettable of that Elite Four. Koga is a former gym leader, Bruno was in Gen 1, Karen is the first Dark Type user and Clair's sister, and Lance is a former Elite Four member and has 3 hacked/maybe Alolan Dragonites. Will... has a mask.

Someone's going to have to write down the math on that on the comments section? Ok, then. Mud Slap and Flamethrower have 100 base accuracy, but Fly has a base accuracy of 95 instead so it'll miss 1 out of 20 times on average. Mud Slap drops accuracy by one stage 100% of the time. An accuracy drop of one stage will mean a multiplier to accuracy of 0.75, so those flamethrowers have one chance in four to miss. And a critical hit in Gen II has a chance of 6.25%, so 1 in 16. So if we put all that together... 1/4 (first flamethrower) x 1/20 (first fly missing) x 1/4 (second flamethrower) x 19/20 (second fly hitting) x 1/16 (critical hit) = 19/102400 = 0.01855468% So, better than the 1/8192 or 0.01220703% chance of finding a shiny normally, but lower than your chances of getting a shiny through the Masuda method. So it was indeed very lucky. Congratulations! Edit: I forgot to take into account the second Fly's accuracy. It should be correct now.

single HM slave run: Any 1st form non-starter pokemon in any Generation that can learn at least 4 HM moves. No restriction on moves until you get your first HM, but after that you can only use HM moves in trainer battles.

My hope was that it would be interesting to see where the lack of type coverage unexpectedly made the games hard, and give MDB an easier, faster challenge that he could pump out in between more extreme challenges.

I remember my first playthrough of Silver (maybe second, my cart got stolen when I was a kid) I caught and attempted to use a Delibird. I was still young enough to believe that "Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favorites." Which is obviously bullshit because nobody is winning anything with Delibird. I don't recall if this was the same team that had an Unown on it as well. Apparently I was running these challenges at like 10 years old.

So ive run some numbers on the Houndoom scenario, an according to the accuracy drop from Mud Slap, the chance of both Flamethrowers and the first fly missing and also the second fly critting wich is a 1/16 chancr by itself in that scenery is according to calculations:"low" Thanks for your attention.

Delibird can learn Mud Slap. Rollout is pretty inaccurate.

@@frog4896 Rollout starts off pretty weak and 90% is pretty bad. Plenty of time to fuck its accuracy with Sand Attack, Smokescreen, or Mud Slap. That's why Flying types and Quilava are actually pretty good to pit against her. Wreck her accuracy 6 times with any of those moves, and a winrar is you.

You mean he can't use transform In a lot of Ditto runs people don't even want to use transform so they can use struggle early Very interesting suggestion

@@Kev.in1997 Yeah, and if the level up glitch still is in effect. Imposter is actually the worst ability for Ditto in a challenge run. Competitively, it can have uses. Solo play? Almost none. If the level up glitch still is in effect, it can then really make use of the leppa berry strat. Asprey did the second half of gen 1 being unable to use struggle and that made it almost impossible. Later generations now, where it is much more expanded. Relying on transform will most likely not work under most circumstances, without some kind of setup beforehand.

Well let’s see here, abysmal stats, horrible move pool and a typing which makes it 4x weak to rock including Whitney’s infamous miltank’s rollout. Don’t think you’ll be able to beat Red on this one without some god tier luck but I’ve been proven wrong before. Anyway here’s some challenges. Here’s one for each main series plus a fan game and a spin-off: Gen 1 using only First form big Pokemon Gen 2 using only Chikorita Emerald using only magcargo Fire red or leaf green using only pidgey Platinum using only geodude Heart gold or soul silver using only sunkern Black and White 2 Challenge mode using only Pikachu X and Y using only Magikarp Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire using only Shedinja Sun and Moon using only a Pichu Ultra Sun and Ultra moon using only an Inkay Sword and Shield using only a Wooloo Fire Red Rocket edition using only the starting rattata. Red or blue Rescue team without using any moves.

I tried this only using Present and Struggle and gave up on Bruno when I couldn't beat him at level 95. I already needed to be level 75 to beat Jasmine.

If he uses present it will be hard because the damage is random and it can even heal the opponent and that just ruins you. Especially against rock and steel, you do no damage to start with and then you heal the opponent and you just want to die in real life...

Got a new idea for a run. A team that is based around the seasons. Spring will be grass-type. Summer will be fire-type. Fall will be flying-type. And winter will be ice-type. Depending on what game you use you might want to change one of the starters so you get a late-game pokémon first. Dual types will be okay as long as you fullfil my pre-set requirement for the seasons. So your team could have 2-4 pokémon on depending on what you choose. I suspect such a run to be fairly easy but this was more for the theme.
