I suggest a Red/Blue run with only Magmar. If you look at its move list you’ll understand why. If you want throw in no Tms for added challenge I’m pretty sure magmar would have one of if not the highest base stat total for a mon in a single run that you’ve done so far.

Can you get past Pokémon Tower with a Krabby? At that point, Surf wouldn’t be available. So you’d be there with just Cut as a damaging move. How high of a level would you need to be to struggle through?
