Can I Fix My Broken Cobray M11?

I have a strange attraction to 80s and 90s firearms, and one of the most iconic firearms from that time is the M11 style of pistol. I got a really good deal on one a while back, and this is probably why. Can I fix it?

Zmags are the way to go on magazines for these guns. I'd also check the extractor as well, make sure its catching right and actually going around the rim of the case.

The one I had, I remember the buffer being both thicker, and on the other side of the recoil pad, as in the bolt wold hit the buffer, not the metal plate.

That patina is Beautiful! If you want to erase scratches on your M11, pat your gun with a cloth dipped in Birchwood Casey Super Blue. There are also seemingly a lot of aftermarket parts for these guns.

Believe I'd try a new barrel and overhaul the entire ejector/extractor assembly while there. Plastic mags were always a problem, and Winchester White Box is the worst to test anything with. Learned all that 20 years ago with a registered SWD M11/9, the QC was laughable at best.

It's gotta be your mags. Both of mine have had zero issues. They are so simple a caveman with a rock could make one. Seriously.

FFT is another good company for stuff. Don't give up. I have 2 and they are a blast. If it's good enough for Arnold and Bruce, it's good enough for me. FBI used these in the 80's.

I tried to "break in" the spring by dry cocking it 500 times. I ripped off most my finger skin, lol. Insane spring strength? You don't truley own a gun until you bleed on it.

Get a new barrel, they aren't too pricey online through ftf industries and maybe practical solutions. I think velocity firearms has barrels too. You will need a barrel install tool and i think ftf industries has some

I might have to! Maybe it has been polished too much, and too much material has been taken away, allowing the cases more room to expand. The next barreled upper I have has been put on, and I'll try that next.

Instead of throwing money at it, I'd like to see what options I have. Throwing money into parts and hoping for the best isn't usually the best solution.

Also check your buffer rods to see if they are bent commen jam issue and is easy to not spot at first so go thru your rods and check if they are bent

Seems okay, but due to the bulged cases and extraction failures, I'm definitely think barrel/chamber issue. I'll try the other upper I have and post another video.

@@ThatDeltaBravo dude your buffer is toast your rods should not have fallen off the back of the bolt like that both rods lock in place of the bolt and dont just fall off like yours did check the ends of the rod and see how there worn out not holding the buffer plate on the bolt and buffer rods and plate should be all together as one your rods are the problem and I'd change the barrel and you have a worn out ejector as well if there getting stuck

@@ThatDeltaBravo like I said the buffer the bolt should be one unit I saw the way your buffer and rods fell when you took the bolt out they shouldn't be falling out like that should rest in the back of the bolt and not fall out those rods are probably no good

You should try to get some z mags those ones are worn out

You could have bent buffer rods or you have a worn out ejector I replaced the c clamp with a nut and screw that will cause less issues and your magazines lips are worn out the metal mags work alot better I would change the ejector and polish the extractor that barrel is probably worn out as well I bet if you change all 3 of those it will run fine your buffer rod definitely looks bent
