Hi Walt. I found your channel and others after The HackPro HVAC guy and his friends have taught me a few things about distrust. For years ny company always sent one or two gents who had served me well, done repairs, and PM’s, I NEVER helicoptered them and always showed my appreciation with a generous tip. Then for some reason, none of old timers ever show up any more. Next generation owner, new manager…who knows. I am looking for a new company and a new guy/guys. I am so trying to figure out how to find trust without watchin. It ain’t easy. I wish you served my area.

Do you know the difference between mold and mildew? Mold needs something organic to grow on. It's not going to grow on metal or insulation. I haven't seen it in the video yet, so you might be correct. However most people don't know the difference and will call all of it mold.

I had a helicopter with me yesterday on 4 of his rental properties, which I don’t mind helicopters, because when I find issues, they are right there and see what I’m doing because I’m explaining it to them. One thing I’ve found out when I get a helicopter around me is I’ll tell them that I watch HVAC KZbin videos and the AC Techs refer to ppl hanging around or following us around HELICOPTERS, they back off 😅 the guy backed off yesterday from me yesterday and started doing other things at his properties, it was hilarious 😅

Hey brother try using core depressors and you wont get frost bit when attaching your hoses also you wont loose any of the charge when you use probes too

1:15 - The contactor points are burned closed; the thermostat is faulty (contacts burned closed, continuously calling for cool); or there is a sort between the green and yellow in the t stat cable. Since it’s leaking the condensate drain is plugged or the overflow pan is leaking.

Talk bad about a homeowner that is a helicopter. One bad previous experience or extortion or hack job and they are watching and/or learning to diy. If someone messed up your car and u took it to someone else, guarantee you watching them too. So many hvac videos show the youtuber going behind a hack job, but can't seem to get why a homeowner is hawking over their equipment and trying to understand what's going on. It's a bad approach, but an hvac issue is as shocking as being in a car wreck. They just high stressed and uncertain. It goes with the territory of what u do contractors. I build studios. The owners watch me and talk. It is what it is. Trust, but verify is the ol saying. Rather be a helicopter than get screwed by a hack job. That's not to WW. He gang gang! 💪🏾💯🤞🏽 I

I have an issue with giving the home owner too much info in the beginning of a diag. Then I have to start back pedaling as I find more info when doing the diag. "We'll you said it was this."

You got a damper stuck closed or low refrigerant or both. Comfort zone probably not even designed right. Here they don't put bypasses or DAT sensors.

That was hard to watch. You may prevent that from happening by not asking the customer so many questions on what they think may be wrong with their unit. Explain that you will check and diagnose the system. That you need 15 to 45 minutes of time to proper do this, is that ok. Then go test(by opening up system and using gauges) and look at the system fully and check it yourself. When someone follows you around asking questions every 20 seconds. To properly professional diagnosis the system you need your mind, not to explain every one of your actions and thoughts. Hope that helps. Also any time there is so much ice, better to turn off and come back.

I overwhelm them. I start talking about cryogenic boiling points, thermodynamics, how a heat pump delivers 3 units of heat for one unit of power, ect.

Of course I'm not there, but 428 psig head pressure, 22.5 sub-cooling, and 7.5 superheat is not good! First thing I'd think of is an overcharge. If not then there's a problem elsewhere that needs to be addressed. Good Luck!

I worked 21 years in a casino and I went to bat to get a player paid if a player was nice and respectful but for the assholes at my table, they got nothing extra from me.
