Seems like food poisoning is basically inevitable.

One way to prolong it would be to decrease by 5% instead of 10%. That gets you a 20 day run. 1% or 2% per day gets you 100 or 50 day runs respectively. Could be interesting.

Had another thought. If you do one of these longer run options you can switch to dropping tools/gear starting from 100% and decreasing by the same increments.

The worst yo-yo challenge, it gets worse for 10 days, then it gets better for 10 days, and then when you least expect it, it gets worse.

Alternate idea for it gets worse is roll a D10 to determine your level percentage for your food and clothing, so it could go up or it could also crater day 2
