I just picked up a t3x Super Varmint in 300wm. Yesterday, I boresighted, and the first 3 shots out of the barrel were touching and 1/2" high. I made 1 adjustment and shot 3 groups of 3. I dropped 8 in the bullseye and one just across the line. My Weatherby Mark V is not as smooth or accurate. Note: the Super Varmint stock is extremely stiff and the adjustable comb works beautifully. @@longrangeprecisionshooters8935As a sidenote to that, it appears the Swedish 6.5x55 factory loadings is quite a bit hotter than what you have in the states. I've seen a lot of US data where the Creedmoor has a faster velocity than Swedemoor, but that is certainly not the case here. The most common ammo on the range is Norma's Diamond Line 8.4g / 130 grain, and goes north of 900ms / 2953fps out of most custom rifles in my club, their barrels usually being 26" to 28". We measured one of my friends rifles to 930ms here recently. I myself shoot Creedmoor and see about 830ms out of my gun with Norma's factory ammo, but is not an apples to apples comparison as they do not offer that same line in Creedmoor as of now. With handloads you can of course get them to behave basically the same, but I digress. Unsure if relevant data but it sure confused the hell out of me for a little while 😉.

I build custom rifles. If someone starts getting the big eyes when we start talking about cost, I redirect them to Tikka. You have a great shooting gun that you can start upgrading piece by piece. Start with trigger spring, then stock/chassis/bottom metal, then barrel. You can stop at any time and be happy with it. All I have added is a Mountain Tactical trigger spring ($9,99) and it shoots one hole with my handloads (Hornady EDL-X over 44 grains of 6.5 Staball, Hornady brass bumped .002 and .010" off the lands) I am running a Vortex Razor 4.5 x 22 x 50 LHT (21 ounces). I noticed you have a large gap between your barrel and scope bell. I use a Warne steel medium mount and only have 3/16" gap and I use a padded elastic pad that carries spare ammo ($20). Rather than raising my cheek, I kept my lightweight scope as low as possible My rifle is at least a couple pounds lighter than yours, $600 less spent and shoots just as good. Seems more like the stock improved your comfort which improved your accuracy a tiny tiny bit. At 100 yards the thing was already stacking shots out of the box and with the stock it just seemed to do the same. Also going from 100 to 550 is introducing a lot more windage and other factors. 100 to 250 to 550 or something in between them would probably show more data and show more of an improvement. Decent video though, well shot and edited, thanks.

I got my recently same riffle as your 6.5 creedmoor .. doing 4 shots touch .. I think when you shot the first group you don't even slow like when you shoot custom stock .. check your video and you can tell the time between each shot on standard stock and custom stock are different. If you give a bit time or slowdown like you did on custom stock the results pretty much the same. . as I'm try my ... End up put stand stock back n return custom stock .. 😅😅😅😅😅. Mate I see some people spend $$$$ more on stock and end up don't have the skills...they trust they rifle more than trust a person skill and end up miss the shot .. I mean no matter how bad the rifle shot if you know your rifle you win ...
@longrangeprecisionshooters89357 күн бұрын
@@NZPUBLICLAND hey brother, thanks for watching and for the comment. What you’re seeing is a heavily edited version. I cut out over nine minutes of video watch time by editing out between the shots. On the factory stock I actually took more time between each shot than I did on the custom because it was much more uncomfortable and needed more breathing and stabilization. So again if I left full version, you would’ve seen that. Either way, thanks again for watching.

The KZbin algo brought me here. First time viewer. Some feedback for what its worth (you paid nothing so maybe its worth nothing). 3 shot groups mean nothing. I shot some .25" MOA groups with my old savage. Its a legit 1 MOA rifle via 10 round groups. Second, you're a bit late to the testing a Tikka train. You are either acting surprised or don't pay attention to the percision shooting world much. I half joke because of the channel name. Its really well established they are a great, reasonably priced barrelled action! Lastly your tripod game doesnt exactly follow generally accepted best practices. Example: when possible, move the pivot point out as far as possible to reduce muzzel movement. I 100% accept the to each his own practice, maybe you somehow excel in ways differently than most. I dont mean to be negative and enjoyed your energy and banter. Just giving some totally unbiased and random, unsolicited input! Ill be checking out a few more videos.
