I'm a 308 guy and about 30 years ago I met a retired Marine at the range. He had a Chandler built 308 and it was the most accurate 308 ive ever seen. He let me take 10 shots that day, i shot it many more times later on in life. We became friends and he taught me how to shoot his way and I'm forever grateful to Mike the Marine. HAH, I have a converted Specwar 762 as well. I've had that can for 11+ years lol. It currently sits on a PAP M92 SBR I built years back with a VZ58 side folder. That gun is heavy and so is that can so they are perfect for each other. It's a novelty at best so none of that matters but it's cool to know that there are others out there still repurposing quality old cans and still running them to this day. I have a HUB converted AAC SDN-6 as well that I've had for 13 years now, it was my very first can I ever purchased. I just built a new elk and mule deer rifle for this upcoming season and it's in .308, so it's safe to say that I am fan after all of these years and it still puts in work and gets it done.

I believe that the Lord's cartridge is the 30 ought 6. Very versatile and plentiful. And on average... It's the same cost as the 308. Although... If you want an AR platform weapon in 30 ought 6 it's going to be insanely expensive. I purchased my first AR 308 a few weeks ago and I love it. 416R stainless steel barrel 20 in long heavy profile. I absolutely love it. My reasoning for saying that 30 ought 6 would be God's cartridge is because it is more versatile than the 308. Just hear me out... On the low end of bullet weights for a 308 you can also find the 30-06. But when it comes to finding the heavier of the two... I have not seen the 308 outweigh the '06 on the high end. Truth be told... Unless you are shooting at extended long ranges... If you can't get it done with a 308 you're not going to get it done with a 30 ought 6 and vice versa.

.30-06 is just old school, with modern powders you just don't need that case volume to get a ~200 gn pill going 3k fps. And like you said yourself, those heavier loadings don't really end up translating to any actual increased versatility i.e. most any game you can take with a .30-06 can be taken by. I used to make.308 loads that'd send a 215 grn berger bullet at 2,500 fps from a 20" barrel, was definitely enough for the stoutest mulies in my area. I'm from s. arizona so our white tails are like 15 lbs, don't usually use .30 cal on em as such.

308 Winchester is damn near magical... But let's face it is, as you proved it, from custom guns that it works well... Custom guns are expensive. 😂 The new standard comes from $1,200 Ruger precisions chambered in 6.5 creedmoor offering... Cheap factory built accuracy rigs with bullets that... Beat 308 all day😢 My favorite rifle is my custom Remington 700 action hosting a 20-in Douglas four lands airgauged match barrel, held in a Magpul detachable box magazine stock, and set off by a 1.5lb Timney trigger... 🥂 My most successful killing rifle is a old 30-06 from the mid 1950s... On a Mauser '98 action, assembled by FN With a Leopold scope on top... The whole thing is a 1960s build glass, bedded and accurized in the manner of that era. And it ensures that whatever I shoot does not need to be chased so far it lies in weight or has scattered off by about 20 yards... @@GroundZeroTactical 1 In the beginning was the 1911, and the 1911 was THE pistol, and it was good. And behold the Lord said, "Thou shalt not muck with my disciple John's design for it is good and it workith. For John made the 1911, and lo all of his weapons, from the designs which I, the Lord, gave him upon the mountain." 2 "And shouldst thou muck with it, and hang all manner of foul implements upon it, and profane its internal parts, thou shalt surely have malfunctions, and in the midst of battle thou shalt surely come to harm." 3 And as the ages passed men in their ignorance and arrogance didst forget the word of the Lord and began to profane the 1911. The tribe of the gamesman did place recoil spring guides and extended slide releases upon the 1911 and their metal smiths didst tighten the tolerances and alter parts to their liking, their clearness of mind being clouded by lust. 4 Their artisans did hang all manner of foul implements upon the 1911 and did so alter it that it became impractical to purchase. For lo, the artisans didst charge a great tax upon the purchasers of the 1911 so that the lowly field worker could not afford one. And the profaning of the internal parts didst render it unworkable when the dust of the land fell upon it, and these profaners didst try and fit more rounds of ammunition into the magazines than the holy number of seven, appointed for the .45. 5 And lo, they didst install adjustable sights, which are an abomination unto the Lord. For they doth break and lose their zero when thou dost need true aim. And those who have done so will be slain in great numbers by their enemies in the great battle. a 6 And it came to pass that the Lord didst see the abomination wrought by man and didst cause, as he had warned, fearful malfunctions to come upon the abominations and upon the artisans who thought they could do no wrong. 7 Seeing the malfunctions and the confusion of men, the lord of the underworld did see an opportunity to further ensnare man and didst bring forth pistols made of plastic, whose form was such that they looked and felt like a brick, yet the eyes of man being clouded, they were consumed by the plastic pistol and did buy vast quantities of them. 8 And being a deceitful spirit, the lord of the underworld did make these plastic pistols, filled with tiny springs and parts that were easily lostc, and they were unmenable to the artisans of earth so they were unable to muck much with the design, and lo these pistols did appear to function. 9 And the evil one also brought forth pistols in which the trigger didst both cock and fire them and which require a "dingus" to make them appear safe. 10 But man being stupid did not understand these new pistols and didst proceed to shoot themselves with the plastic pistol and with the trigger cocking pistols for lo their manual of arms required great intelligence which man had long since forsaken. Yet man continue to gloat over these new pistols blaming evil forces for the negligent discharges which they themselves had committed. 11 And when man had been totally ensnared with the plastic pistol, the lord of the underworld didst cause a plague of the terrible Ka-Boom to descend upon man and the plastic pistols delivered their retribution upon men. And there was a great wailing and gnashing of teeth in the land. 12 Then seeing that the eyes of man were slowly being opened and that man was truly sorrowful for his sinful misdeeds, the Lord did send his messengers in the form of artisans who did hear and obey the teachings of the prophet and who didst restore the profaned 1911s to their proper configuration, and lo, to the amazement of men they didst begin to work as the Lord had intended. 13 And the men of the land didst drive out the charlatans and profaners from the land, and there was joy and peace in the land, except for the evil sprits which tried occasionally to prey on the men and women of the land and who were sent to the place of eternal damnation b by the followers of John.

I'm still an unwashed heathen that runs a brake as apposed to a suppressor. My 308's (one bolt gun and one AR10) have low recoil.

1 In the beginning was the 1911, and the 1911 was THE pistol, and it was good.

Lord does not need cartriges he is almighty and your savior. Man , how you can use his name just like that . God and cartrige are totally different stories.
@longrangeprecisionshooters89357 ай бұрын
First off, I am a believer. Secondly, it’s a play on words and kind of a joke in that clearly he doesn’t have or need a cartridge. And if he did use one, he could use one that was so ballistically disadvantaged from modern day cartridges that it would still perform only to his limitless Supernatural power, brah.
