Cruising boats often are floating in fresh or brackish water and want to know if they can run their marine water maker. Rich answers the question along with an explanation of why it's ok as long as you know what you are doing!

This is a question I've always wondered about because the standard answer didn't make sense. As long as you heavily pre filter for oil and biologic contamination, I was always confused by the claim you couldn't make water. Good info here Richard, thank you.

Could a system like this remove sulfur smell and taste from water in a Municipality's water system?

bryan furr use activated carbon filters for that. Water makers do not take out disolved chemicals. They remove the sodium and particles which are much bigger.
