Engineering knits is a place for people who enjoy all kinds of vintage and antique crafts - from sewing to knitting, crochet to embroidery I like to try it all. I definitely have a preference for historical fibre crafts, and it is my dream to one day make an entire outfit from sheep to sweater. I hope you enjoy watching me and my favorite companion, Nutella, struggle through some fascinating projects!

I mean, you may not have finished it all in one day, but you still made all of that amazingly quickly. I mean, you had a coat and a jacket in there! Those alone should have taken you way longer. Bravo!

I saw this title and went, “NO! Stop doing that to yourself!” As a professed slow sewer I panic at the thought. Love your pieces though.

I'm sort of a fast sewer, but I still had a bit of a panic. What a stressful, self-imposed deadline!

I am also a "slow sewer"... mostly because I hate ripping! I generally don't often make mistakes because I have been sewing for 100 years (well, 50+), but I really don't like to have to backtrack on projects. Yes, I have sometimes had marathon days of sewing, but it is not my preferred timeframe.

Advice from someone who has been sewing for 57 years. - Schedule at least one day per garment from start to finish and give yourself a week on a tailored coat or jacket. Then you have time to think it through, plus the time for the inevitable picking out seams that didn't go as planned. I make more mistakes with panic sewing than when I am calm and relaxed.

@@leah_gg1 That too, if you are not sure of the pattern, have not sewn for that person or are generally unsure of your skill level.

I’ve been sewing for 30 years and will say this, you can make multiple garments in a day so long as the prep is good. What I mean by that is, you’re working with a pattern you know fits, you have your fabric cut, any markings transferred, and ready to go. Any special thread is with that fabric, the instructions (should there be any), and any notions. Get them all together don’t just assume you still have those buttons or a zipper that’s the right length. I lost a ton of weight when I stopped breastfeeding and literally didn’t have any clothes. I managed to make several shirts in one day just by doing a little prep. Four tops, two days, while still dealing with two kids and a spouse during a pandemic- and doing distance learning.

Loved that cold open! XD I'm so impressed that you were able to sew so many pieces, even if it's not the original 1 day that you were aiming for. They all turned out great, really love that coat in particular!

U r a true fiber crafts person. I've looked at other KZbin sites that claim that privilege. First ur site is professionally produced. Second u don't take an hour to explain a 15 min project. Third, ur intelligence in interpreting old English is unsurpassed by any other. Thanks for very informative vids.

Haven’t watched your videos in a bit (trying to cut down on the time watching other people do things and do things myself!). You have grown so much in your sewing, and your confidence in your skills and more comfortable in front of the camera. So nice to see you growing so much! Great or on all these!

Terrific pumpkin fleece housecoat! A coat, a jacket, and a flannel shirt! Wow. Very impressive. They all look great, dresses and jumper too. Agree with J Judy though. You should definitely give yourself more time in the future.

This was the first video i have seen of yours but wont be the last. When i saw the machine you were using, i was like no wonder. That machine, even tho very lovely, is slow. If you had a modem machine, you may have been able to get 3 or 4 done. I will be coming back for more. Your dog is too cute for words.
