I'm currently re-watching all your Rimworld vids, and a thought occurred to me. How epic a Reanu Keeves, 100 Statman, Sir Digby, and Big Dave conquering Rimworld would be. With Yorkshire Tea Gold flowing through their veins, healing them like Wolverine. They bring the Yorkshire Tea ideology to a colony near them. late comment, but one of your mods has pawns cleaning their area around to workbench (presumably to reduce mood debuffs), and this INTERUPTS the job bill for long bill times. This is why in the vid there was such issues with making food, cutting timber etc.

I do see some problems with Spiff's tactics here. His broken mods were not exactly his fault but mixing the lack of cooked food with really poor living conditions meant his colonists were constantly in poor mood which severely impact productivity and lead to both chicken and goat murders which in turn meant his defenses and infra structure were not done at the end. Same thing goes for the lack of lights and outdoors crafting stations, lower productivity is a disaster in Rimworld unless you play on a really low difficulty. We also have some temperature issues, Spiff had a long time to build some fire places before winter and yet many colonists got frostbites since he forgot, not great in a survival game and made worse since he didn't produced a single piece of clothing and only traded for one which he left on the ground. That means all his colonists were cold and in even worse mood. Then we come to storage and building placement. It was a long way to walk between the kitchen and the storage room which waste a lot of time and Spiff didn't get any shelves until the very end. A small room entirely filled with shelves (walking over them is slightly slower but it is so little the extra space makes it worth it) close to the kitchen would had tripled his food production once he got the meals working. And you can far easier micro control your colonists by chaining up the commands. just hold shift while you give them a bunch of tasks. It saves a lot of work but be a bit careful since they can get problem with their mood since they get hungry or tired but are forced to keep working. Finally, Spiff should have spent 5 minutes on prioritizing work better. Otherwise you get total chaos. I usually put a "1" priority on fire fighting and medical (in some cases cooking too if I only have one chef) and a 2 on bedrest, then the rest I put on what I want them to do in what order. I also tend to make 1 cleaning lady/lad with only Fire fighting, bed rest and cleaning, nothing else if I have more then 4 colonists. It means less food poisoning and keeps the mood up since trash impacts it negatively. Luckily for Spiff, Randy Random didn't really work here. Most of his events didn't happen due to the mods and Randy is still a rather kind story teller (compared to the Void or Igor Invader, heck even to Cassandra Classic). He should have used one of the Story tellers made for the main mod he used, like "Maynard Medieval" for instance. So yeah, this was a bit of a dumpster fire but it was very entertaining to watch. Keeping the mood high for your colonists is one of the most important things in Rimworld. Having them sleep on a bedroll in a barrack is not a good long term solution if you want to get anything done. For some reason if they don't get a table and chair when they eat they get super upset as well which is an issue when you only own 2 chairs. It doesn't really matter what mods you run, these are core Rimworld things. Limit how much your colonists need to walk to get anything done and keep them happy or you will die unless you play on super easy, barely an inconvenience. Having constant social fights and breakdowns will stop you from getting anything done. Rimworld is an unforgiving game and if Spiff wants to save his colony and kidnapped colonists he first needs to make his base more effective. The problem is that a lot of the difficulty in Rimworld comes down to wealth and with 2 characters, and with only one of them being able to fight that will still be a huge problem. He needs to get at least 3 more colonists fast if he wants to be able to survive. That or he needs a really nasty killbox with traps but to build such a thing he needs a very effective base (at least with only 2 colonists). Expect the next raid to have something like 2 people less... Also: The condiments mod never hurts, ketchup is great for morale. ;)

pawns can follow pretty specific instructions using areas and stockpiles and benches within the area for instance using manual priorities you can get them to mine craft construct and haul all with in the area you assign you just have to break long instructions down to macro actions and not use priorities to try and do it all at once not everything belongs on mine 3 craft 2 constuct 1 mines area set crafts chunks or other crafting from mods and said tables presetup tables tell pawns what area to goto next but the area you set pawns to have to have area from table included in the area you set them to dont remember if you need to connect them or not in one mod rimatomics you set the path you want to haul spent radiated fuel cells while setting everyone not hauling / wearing a radiation/mopp suit or loose pawns to radiation poisioning if you dont take care of it with iodide from the mod wild tip set people to take a dose or 3 before you start hauling spent fuel for reprocessing

I once made my slaves mine out a whole mountain and didnt bother to clean up any of the corpses from those that died from exhaustion or were crushed as a way to keep the others in line. the 20ish of them lived in a tiny room with nothing but sleeping spots and a food paste dispenser, but ironically they had more map area for their work zone then my colonists had in total for their home. my motto in this game is, if they arent my colonists, they dont have rights, if they dont make a good worker in my labor camp, well, then they may lose their tongue, or something else that wont effect their ability to work, like their ears, and if that dont work, they shall make a great slab of pre-packaged organs :) my current game is a group of stoner nudist witches who worship panthers and enslave most men and the ones that do join the colony have to wear burkas and do all the menial labor like cleaning and hauling or mining. they are also the first ones i send into combat. honestly we currently have a panther over-population issue but every female in my colony has their own pet panther. they will also not allow any female or male to join the colony unless they convert religious beliefs, so captured females will be imprisoned or enslaved until converted.

Its possible that the reason why they cannot cook for most of the stream was because of a mod conflict. If you see an error pop up in the dev console after turning on dev mode then that confirms it.
