I'm not sure why... but a while back I attempted to walk 100,000 steps in a single day. That's more than the length of a marathon and I mostly did it indoors... here is the story of what this challenge did to my body.

This is the fine line. He was smart enough to know that this was a fool’s errand, he was smart enough to have stuff prepared, and smart enough to estimate what amount of steps he’d need to take in order to get that goal. But he was dumb enough to go through with it, despite all the obstacles he KNEW would be there, and how difficult it would be. That could be perceived as stupid, I suppose, but I’d argue it’s being committed to the bit. While objectively, it is stupid, subjectively? That’s stupid in his eyes. Just don’t be stupid yourself, and try to attempt this. Not without a couple months, maybe even a year of training, the proper equipment, and medical supplies, and know when you need to tap out.

30k was mild arch pain for me which could be mildly mitigated by ice packs or just using arch support slippers/shoes. 60k well....my quads were burning from endless marching. You'd be amazed how much stuff adds up. The average person walks 10,000 steps in a day. That's only 10 days to get to 100,000. Even if you cut that in half and only walked 5,000 in a day, that would still only take 20 days, say 3 weeks to do that. I remember walking from my college back home (whenever my bike had a flat tire) and that was 8 miles, took about 3 hours and we'd usually grab lunch midway. It's totally possible to do, just not in one day.

This reminds me of the second time I went kayaking ever with my folks. We decided to head down the sound to the bridge at the end of the island. Which didn’t seem to be too far away… we thought it would take maybe 2 hours to and back. The bridge was 12 miles away. We were on the water for 9 hours. It was almost dark by the time we fought the current all the way back up to the trailer. By gods, just about sobbed when we got back on land, my arms were shot, bloodied, bruised, and blistered- I could not hold onto anything and kept dropping things. 24 miles in 9 hours. But hey, we made it to the bridge haha XD

Blizzard Maelstrom true. But that’s not what I was referring to. When humans hunted, we didn’t outrun the prey. Not with speed that is. We kept going after it, followed it, exhausted it until it couldn’t keep going, because we were made for going large distances. Not speed. So walking>running. That’s not to say humans don’t run XD just that running is not necessary a human’s strong suit. Or rather, running quickly is not.

This man is the epitome of "It might be impossible, but I'll do it anyway." The sheer DETERMINATION of him! I'm in awe! Respect to Markiplier for being... so damn determined to break his legs for out entertainment.

At 0:35 it says that the average person walks 3-4 thousand, and that a walking goal should be 10,000. This makes what Mark did even more incredible

try blindfolding yourself for a whole day, see if your brain responds with a massive increase in hearing and spacial awareness

@Shadowsong yeah your brain would just be in "wtf" territory all day, it takes much longer for your brain to start consolidating your sight neurons for use in spatial awareness and hearing. If all it took was a day we'd lose our sight while we slept.
