If I replace the NAND memory chip on an iPhone 15 Pro Max 128 gigabytes with a 1 terabyte chip, do I still have the Apple warranty? How much is such an iPhone worth then? The packaging says something different and the seal is broken.

Amazing work as always - I nearly booked my training course 5-6 years ago to learn about micro soldering and fixing iPhone devices in general. Due to the wide UK consumer market not wishing to have their devices repaired I decided NOT to venture into mobile repairs. Nearly most UK consumers rather swap their devices for a new one every 2-3 years so there was no place for me to offer repair service. The UK market is huge and I could leave my full time job to repair phones all day but not the case! There are bigger retail repair companies who are buying in thousands and repairing these devices. These companies also have major buying power with large retailers like Apple and other sources who sell their broken devices to these people. This leaves small guys like me wit NOTHING..... This is the reason why I pulled out of this industry and sold off all my micro soldering kit and equipment.

Very good assessment. But in developing nations or third world countries, repair is still very much in demand. I do agree that large companies who buy bulk from Apple are the ones that do benefit from repair. But they also resell these phones, even to developing or third world countries who can't afford to buy new iPhones which is pretty much a luxury item for them. Although I think you could still benefit from buying defective iPhones and then repair and resell them 1 phone at a time as a side job, then expand as you go on.

I have question for you, if I have an iPhone 13 Pro or later that's capable of ProRes but only 1080p because its 128GB, will increasing it to 256Gb or high grants the capability of shooting ProRes in 4K? I know 256Gb and above models can shoot ProRes in 4k but not if you have 128Gb.

Those "ground resistor" could be used for impedance matching. Removing them may lead to unstable read/write to nand. Why not use the same 1tb nand in iphone 15 pro

If you are not experienced with the upgrade, the try to flash the phone before reapplying any adhesive. Just put the motherboard back and attach all the connectors.

If you can see, the 1TB NAND its much wider than the 256GB one, and it doesn’t need that set of ground resistors

First one as you see, the reason is because the 1TB NAND size is totally different from normal 256GB or 512GB NAND. So is much wider. So we have to remove it and as you can see it working normally

One more reason for why 256GB or 512GB these types motherboard have more ground resistors is because these NAND are smaller than 1TB. Therefore, we predict it can prevent glue overflow during NAND encapsulation also

I presume it’s to help strengthen the bond that between the phone and the display, so before the glue has set, by placing it into the pressure machine, it should help the glue to form a tight bond between them both and probably helps it to spread out uniformly as intended and create a uniform bead around the whole display, preventing any gaps or weak points that could become gaps later on, in which water may be able to seep in if there’s a gap big enough, probably helps with moisture too.. And with the water depth rating - water would be a high pressure so a stronger uniform bond is needed I reckon. Like how vices are used when gluing two pieces or wood together, helps them bond together better making it a stronger bond That’s my best guess, i think that’s correct but not a 100% sure about it being a uniform and even bead, idk, eeems logical.. Hope that helps

Just do not buy an Apple iPhone... Fixing Them Yourself is extremely difficult or impossible... A Moto G1 changed battery with a standard screwdriver and finger nails. Battery change should and will return. Saves waste and the planet.
