HOP munitions is here in my state of Ohio. They’re veteran owned and operated, and try to help down and out vets with jobs and housing. I’ve now shot ~1300 rounds of their poly jacket 115 for my steel challenge ammo. It’s been fantastic, not a single problem.

Thats what sucks about these smaller ammo companies, You never know whos bullets they are loading or whos brass cases they are using. It can change regularly. The next box you may have very different results. They must have some really good powder measuring equipment for such good SD's.

Good speeds, excellent penetration, & some good expansion for something that’s NOT rated for plus P. I’d say they are worth carrying if you didn’t have any HST, Critical Duty or Gold Dots. Keep up the good work tools!!

They look like a XTP projectile after fired the expansion and the penetration the holes in the front of them before fired looked like a HST. Great video I definitely would EDC this ammo and feel comfortable with it I'm gonna have to pick up a couple boxes of them and see how they run in my EDC rotation.

That's a spicy bunny for a non +P cartridge they got there. Very impressive but these small companies make me nervous because I never trust them to stay consistent. To be fair, after watching a ton of test videos, there's some serious consistency issues even with mainstream legacy brands over the last few years.

Yep, especially in 9mm. I think when you're looking at a handful that do what you want, it comes down to price and availability at that point.

Decide what your objective is, then choose gear accordingly. Don't just buy whatever you're being offered or whatever is available. Deep penetration to consistently reach vital organs without significantly overpenetrating has become the traditional goal for handgun ammo over the last 40 years. Heavy for caliber loads tend to stay on track better and come to a rest deeper. Expansion to make bigger holes and speed up bleeding/incapacitation/unconsciousness are secondary traits. The problem is that rounds that expand better usually penetrate less, and that's no bueno. Research well, and you can find styles that do BOTH: penetrate deep and expand wide. But if you carry in the wilderness, you probably want major penetration rounds which bust through bone and ensure exit wounds for added bleeding. Totally different application than defense against criminals and small animals. In modern litigious society, it's probably best to avoid edgy-marketed products. Any and everything will be used against you in the proceedings, so why give them juicy stuff to make you look bad? Yes, a good defnse attorney should be able to out-argue the prosecution, but be wary. Image or "optics" will matter.

Good test, Brian! Like you, I like the penetration but the disruption seems a little shy maybe. If the bullets have a tiny star at the bottom of the hollow point they might be Sig bullets. In my experience the Sig bullets take some velocity to get them to work but these did pretty well overall. Over all I'd say they should ok for carry, maybe not the best available but definitely ok!
