This has been a great episode for me. First, the Bow and Arrow was my first Nerf blaster. It was great to see it opened and tinkered on. This makes me want to go through stuff at my parent's house to find it. (I had a long drought between that and my first Recon.) Second, I am sort of glad to see that someone else thought that a Messenger, Dauntless, Lumante loadout was a good idea. I just need one more Dauntless and Lumante. I was slightly broken hearted to see that the Lumante didn't take K26. Oh, and an idea that just hit me as I have been having issues adjusting myself. On the blasters that take K26 or another spring upgrade, could you tell us approximate lengths or coils that you used to help some of us ballpark before we get started? Thanks as always, sir.

I always start by making the k26 the same length as the stock spring and shorten it from there as needed.

Captain Xavier But that isn't always the final length. I just haven't gotten comfortable in trimming it down. I have one Messenger that works great, and another that is iffy. Do you suggest cutting a coil at a time, or a bit less?

I love the dauntless, but i always thought it should've been hammer prime. so i put the front of a dauntless on the back half of a double strike and make myself a 3 shot hammer prime steampunk/pirate pistol. and it looks amazing

I am building a very diverse Rebelle Loadout. 2x Sweet Revenges, 2x 4Victories, 2x Dauntlesses, 2x Pink Crushes, 2x Rapid Reds. All pistols. I want 4 hammer primers for the ease of firing and 4 direct prime for the power, and 2 flywheel for the spamming. :D

I can fit 2 sweet revenges on either hip, 2 sweet revenges on my chest, 2 4victories above my butt and 2 4victories under my armpits for a total of 10 hammerprime pistols and still be able to bend over to pick up darts without everything falling off. Still got room on my back for something if I can figure out how to draw/holster it. Cargo shorts with big pockets for dart storage... All pistols came with their own holsters so you can use those (if you don't mind reverse-drawing your left handed sweet revenges) Trouble is now I have to mod and paint 10 guns! And mobility is kind of out of the window, a brisk jog is about it.

Secret Shot takes TEK6, but...watch out...everything wants to jump back out. Cram the shell back on. There is no upgrade for the purse. However you can give it a few feet and fix it's consistency.

For the doubtless, could you make it a shotgun pistol? Make it like a blunderbuss pistol or, essentially a flintlock (I know it's not a flintlock design but go with me here) with grapeshot or birdshot basically, I hope you get my meaning.

Only recently found out about the dauntless myself and would love to get one. The only thing I would change on it is I'd try to make it hammer primed(Maybe see if the internals of a doublestrike or a 4 victory would fit?)

Recently found a Secret Shot at a thrift store, decided to try to do a penny mod similar to the Maverick mod. I discovered one thing: I THOROUGHLY HATE THIS BLASTER!. I have never, never had a foam shooter give me so many problems putting it back together. And once the actual blaster was back together, putting the stock back on took forever due to the dual spring loaded hinge. The irony is, during the fight, the friend I was secretly building it for called and asked me to lunch. After they hung up, the spring finally seated properly and the blaster is back together. It will take a three penny mod. Maybe more, but didn't want to press my luck.

random question but what do you do about painting something like the priming rod on the dauntless? I mean if you put on layers and layers of paint I'd think that would make it prime slower, but if you don't then it would scratch off immediately. this is why I just don't even attempt to repaint blasters anymore, as better as it might turn it compared to when I was 12 being an art student now

I generally don't bother painting past the point that is exposed when the blaster is not primed.

If you are planning on getting two Dauntless pistols, how about you make them like Duckfoot shotguns? Plus your whole Rebelle pistol loadout might as well be a Blackbeard Loadout amirite? Either way, I want to see a Dauntless fire all three barrels at once, painted to match a flintlock pirate pistol.

Where did the accent come from on the dauntless? As for the dauntless' priming handle, would a nightfinder or firestike counterpart fit? For the bow and arrow, it looked like a blazen' bow "pre-shell."

It sounded like you went New Jersey for a split second. Having a grandmother who managed to hang on to her Manhattan accent for the I don't know how many years she lived in Pasco, WA, I kind of have an ear for accents from that area.

I've never been the New Jersey in my life...I'm not even sure what a New Jersey accent sounds like. The Dauntless has a unique plunger head so I doubt they would be interchangable and it does not screw off. Yes, the Bow 'n' arrow is clearly the predecessor to the blazin bow.

I recently thrifted a buzz bee baron, and doubled the spring up with a deploy spring. Instead of making it fire 2 megas, or rebarreling it for one elite per barrel, I had the idea of making it fire 3 elites at a time either with pvc or sledgefire shells or something, and have a real 2 shot shotgun pistol firing 3 elites at a time. I was wondering what you think of that captain xavier

OMFG Either I missed that episode, or I forgot about your sledgefire shell Baron. Naturally I added the deploy spring because I saw you do it. It does look like making a baron that loads 6 elites, and fires 3 per prime might be more work than it's worth though. Although if I ever have several lying around I might give it a shot.

Hi Captain X, I will be selling my modified Longshot, and I do not have a Dremel. I plan to brass the breach, improve the air seal, and upgrade the spring (most likely Home Depot springs ). I was wondering how much easier it is to brass a breach with a Dremel, and how much Dremels are/where I can get them. Also, should the brass be the length of the full breach or a nerf dart? Thanks! I'll be sure to inform you how it turns out!

It depends on the type of brass breach (there are several designs) but most things are made easier with a Dremel. They vary in price greatly but can be gotten at hardware stores or online.

Captain Xavier Walcom's video on The Judge was depressing as all get out, it's apparently a nightmare just to open & re-close, to say nothing of actually modding. I'd suggest having a good chat with him prior to doing that episode, maybe he can save you some headaches.
