Thank you for covering this.. I also have had that creepy crawly feeling at odd times.. I can not express how important it is to follow tip no. 3.. My eyes had started acting up (drying out) and I went to my eye doctor. He also had said my dry eye could be a cause of going through changes (he was very tactful, and I was thankful for that.. Haha) . but after a more indepth look into my eyes, he found another problem had been forming. Please, do not ignore your eye health!

I feel like I've aged 40 years after the last 3 year onslaught known ever so eloquently as 'pemenopause', but I would like to take creative licence and call it 'torture'!!! I have been a trooper thinking this is a natural process (I've never taken the pill and avoid even paracetamol), so am stupidly thinking it will pass, and to harden up. But it is driving me crazy. I've had all the symptoms (my periods were always standard, on time and I didn't get cramps or heavy bleeding...). I did however suffer during my two pregnancies. It started for me with intermittent spotting (I went through numerous tests for 6mths thinking something was seriously wrong, the doctors not once said it could be the start of perimenopause (@43). It was frightening!). By the time I got the all clear, I had stumbled across the idea a was starting to go through the changes, and when I suggested that to the doctor, she vaguely answered as if not to invite any repercussions if she wrote it off as just that. It was quite a disservice to me. So, I then graduated to heavy heavy clotted bleeding for weeks on end, a break here and there. I lasted 1 year and a half soldiering on, when suddenly I nearly collapsed. Unsurprisingly, I'd become severely anaemic. So I stared a concerted effort of liquid Spartans iron supplements, and a diet rich in all sorts of nutrient rich food. It took 6 weeks for me to become stable, 6mths to get back to full strength as I was still bleeding heavily. I've not worked, have had other niggling symptoms here and there, but 3 mths ago I broke out in hive blisters all over my legs arms and hands. I thought I'd been bitten by a hundred mosquitoes. To date, I get ALL the rashes - hives, watery blisters, hard pimples under the skin and prickly heat up around my head chin neck and decollatage. I had to change my diet again to exclude culprits. It's worse at times - usually at night or after a nap.sometimes I sit up for hours just waiting for it to pass. When heat waves through my body I know it coming to an end and I try so hard not to scratch because I have unsightly spots that make me look like I've had the pox.

Hi Symptoms such as rashes, spots, itching are often caused by an adrenaline surge maybe triggered by situations such as stress, low blood sugar levels or dehydration. It may be an idea to do a two week diary where you note not only what you eat and drink but also when (and also how you feel emotionally) just to pinpoint if any of the above apply. Make sure that you drink plenty of plain water every day as this helps to 'flush' adrenaline out of the body. Acupuncture can sometimes be effective for this kind of scenario, so worth looking into. Aloe Vera gel applied gives instant relief! Smeared over the itchy body sites affected, in my own case I experience it around my breasts and torso in general. I keep a jar of Aloe Vera gel (discovered more effective than lotion) close to my bedside when for no apparent reason the itching will wake me out of a deep sleep and literally drive me crazy! I went to a Naturopath and she said that perimenopause and menopause can lower our progesterone and estrogen thus causing our system to dry out. I was on progesterin (synthetic chemical for endometriosis) birth control pills and once I stopped this past May, my sensitive skin and scalp went crazy and constantly itchy causing severe insomnia. As per my Naturopath, I’ve just started the progesterone (natural hormone) at a low dose 100mgs (since I’ve always been hypersensitive to everything). If things don’t improve in 4 weeks, the progesterone will be slowly increased and I might have to try estrogen later. But I’m also starting to eat freshly ground flax seeds and hemp hearts with some healthy cereal, plus as many other omega 3 fatty acid foods as possible in hopes of helping this problem. I’m also trying to stop the sugar/chocolate I’m deeply addicted to especially when in pain. And yes, lots of water especially because I deal with chronic pain and medications for the past 18 years on top of it all. My skin slowly started getting itchy at times about 6 years ago (probably when perimenopause started) but is now constantly itchy since stopping the progesterin. Going to try a colloidal oatmeal bath too just to try and relieve it temporarily. And now after watching this and doing some of my own research, I’ll try Nettle tea and Neem shampoo too. Thank you.

Turning 50 next month. Wake up with achy fingers and in other areas. I was in the sun at a rodeo last Sunday and now my aches appears to be lessened to almost gone. Strange! But I’m not sure if it’s due to Sun exposure or the Estroven (max strength) I started last Saturday and Sunday so i oh two doses. But I ended up no longer taken Estroven because Monday my neck is now having a rash that could be from heat exposure and considering I take BP meds. As a kid I use to get heat rash. I’m all mess up. However I think it’s heat induced because as I sleep and get hot my neck becomes itchy once I’m up moving and not in a fetal position and air gets to my neck it appears to go away no more itching. I put some Colloidal silver it helped with itchy and redness. Is there anything else I can do?

@@AvogelCoUk ok. Thanks for the reply. I've been trying to talk to a few women friends about menopause. They seem to say "oh yeah a little bit of this happened and that was it." Ok. My mother and grandmother passed away when I was younger. I dont have them to talk to now that these things are happening. Glad that some women here have the same things I do.

even my hands and sole of feet is itching, and my scalp. I try my best to distract myself and stop it. If i scratch it gets worse and it spreads all over.

@@AvogelCoUk I feel like i really need the hrt. right now I am itching so much but trying my best not to scratch. and I also feel hot all over my extremities. I should scratch anything coz it spreads all over,. I also need to avoid sunlight. I am also putting my water in a drum and expose it for hours to clear out some chlorine. I feel like I have chillis all over. itch itchy and hot. my skin is super dry. I keep moisturize but it never works. i think hrt is the only solution.
